How a Widow Sees Life On a Dating Site! Too Funny!!

I'm a widow looking for a widower as a companion, this is my experience looking at profiles of men. I can help men get dates!!

Ladies, here are some things to do on these sites. See if that's really his photo: Using Google Chrome, right click the image, and open it in a new tab. Then, right click that new tab image and select "Search image with Google, or Google lens." See if that same image comes up anywhere else. I've found several liars who have pulled someone's images from websites, and used them for Facebook and KZbin profiles. Also, on Facebook, if a man wants to friend you, right click his name. Open that in a new tab. Read his personal details. Then scroll through his posts. Do his posts match his profile? Did he just start that FB page in the last month or so? Are most of his posts images of himself, and flowers, and military? Are most of his friend women? How do they interact with him? All endearments, or casually? If he says he lives in America, are his friends and those who comment on his posts using foreign languages? Does he use normal English, sentence structure, grammar? Or does he sound a bit like English is not his first language? Food for thought.

Donna, those are some great ideas for women on dating sites!!! Dating sites can be so much fun, as long as you are EXTREMELY CAREFUL. You are able to meet some very interesting people. Here is my experience!!! I was on a dating site for a few years at 76 years old and had exchanged messages with several men through the years. After getting to know them better, I had lots of phone conversations (getting to know them even better). Then I met a few of them at 3;00 P.M. in a popular restaurant, just for coffee!!! This worked out great because I could spend an hour and say goodbye if it didn't work out. The good news is, it did work out and I met my "Mr. Wonderful" and we were married for 8.5 years (without ever having an unkind word) until he passed away from a brain disease two years ago. A few of my sons, grandchildren, and friends have also met their spouses through the dating sites!!!

I agree with you. I hated online dating. Those guys that never saw a dentist in 25 years; I swipe left on. I’d rather that they show me who they are right off the bat, not change to woo a lady then revert back to their sweatpants and not shave. I dated a guy who had good oral hygiene but still had yellow teeth and he didn’t want to try those teeth whiteners. So he’s my ex now. Lol (that’s not why…)

Yes, these scammers are specifically looking to target women who are lonely. Who went through a death or divorce. They say all the right things to get their target hooked. Leave beautiful messages full of compliments. Just look out. If they wanna rush things, marry or want to move in together, or the BIG RED FLAG....they start asking for money. Many people have lost everything to these scammers because they thought they were "in love".

The women on the fish site were not scammers but not always truthful , their is a site that starts with T and here I ran into many " female" scammers. Who know who you are really chatting with but if a twenty year old in a mini skirt is interested in me and compliments me on my picture she is definitely trying to scam.

Sandra: just found your channel. Thoroughly enjoying! I’m a widow of 5 years, 74. I also went on “Christian” match sites. Many of the same thoughts. Some of these men are indeed pathetic and without a clue. I was scammed two times, and caught them impersonating other anonymous men with bogus photos. Of course reported the incidents. Some of the clues are: they mirror what you say; can’t write English very well; grammatical errors; make up stories about their background; ask for money for an emergency in their lives! I did go out with several really nice men. Lunch dates only. Had a friend sitting at the same restaurant so they could help me if needed. No intimate places. One man admitted he’d been divorced. When I asked how many times, he refused to answer! The other bragged about being an entertainment attorney and shared photos of his Hollywood connections. My daughter cautioned me on my adventures online. “Meet someone naturally!” She then proceeded to set me up with her best friend’s Dad. We met and fell in love, together four years now. God took care of me! He knows your heart!

One thing that brought me to the point of actually finding the right man was to realize that I was only looking for one man. I didn't need to be Miss Popularity. You should make another video explaining what an ideal profile would look like in your opinion. I’m 26 and I don’t mind if there’s pictures of them in a skiing suit because it shows a sense of adventure… BUT I think it should be followed by a nice picture of their face as well. I also look for a sense of humor or a mention of something to invite a conversation that does not start with “hey beautiful,” like you mentioned. A mention of hobbies, family, kids, pets. Nothing negative like “I hate cats,” but instead “I love taking my dogs on walks.” I hope you agree with my analysis and put your own hilarious spin if you choose to make this video in the future. Lastly, my friends and I agreed you should make a video of advice for young single 20-somethings trying to navigate life, dating, jobs, moving, settling down, etc. Hope to see more from you soon!

Thank you Sandra for having the courage to share your list of the unpleasantries men are posting on dating sites. I thought I was the only one who noticed that too many older men on dating sites took very little pride in the way they presented themselves. Your list consisted of most of the things that turned me off and why I no longer bother looking on these dating sites. I was just tired of what I was seeing. At one point I added some of the things I didn’t cared for, such as pictures with sports cars and baseball caps. A well groomed man is important to me.

I am less than a year from turning 70, and never got married or had children. There were boyfriends, but I didn't marry. I’m laughing at your observations on profiles. I was raised on a farm with men hunting and fishing. When I was about 7 years old I mentally told myself that wasn’t the life I wanted to live as an adult. I moved to a larger town the day after graduation. I will not give a second look to a man in ballcap, coveralls, overalls, with a beer or cigarette in mouth or hand. I’m not going there even if they’re good looking or if I know they’re financially secure. I am worthy to have the type of man I want. I no longer look at online dating sites. You’re a beautiful lady. Maybe this is the time for you to discover who you are and discover or develop hobbies / things you’ve wanted to do but couldn’t instead of focusing on dating. The first year after a death or relationship change is important in healing. Moving on too soon can bring problems to the relationship. A friend married a man 5 months after meeting him and 7 months after his wife died. The day after returning from a two week honeymoon she was fired from her job. Until this they had never discussed money, budget. It wasn’t a calm relationship for a few years. Many people don’t realize pictures reveal body language that reveals many things about a person. I agree with you on all the things you’re mentioning. Thanks for sharing.

One man Took a picture of himself standing in front of his packed, messy, garage! And said he has a washer and a dryer! Woohoo! What a prize!😂😂 I have commented back to men to smile and retake their photo. AND, I’ve seen men put a photo of his former wife or his deceased wife! I’ve been widowed 2 yrs. and have no desire to date or remarry because no one could measure up to my husband of 38 yrs. plus the 7.5 years we dated. The next guy I met and dated for 7.5 years would put me into my 80s. No thanks. 🤣 Anyway, this vlog was a hoot and I laughed through the whole thing. I don’t think you should give these dating site guys tips to improve their photo because by seeing them in their “natural” state, widows will know at first glance that this is a guy to avoid. 🤡 A lot of things you saw in the background of their photos just proved that they just need a maid and caretaker. Loved this video. I can relate so well! About 4 years ago, I tried the online dating sites. What a joke! I signed up on 5 different ones with NO success. Frankly I miss the old-fashioned dating from the 70s, 80s or 90s. I was truly looking for a relationship, not a fly-by-night-one-night-stand! No one on any of those sites wanted what I have to offer. They were not looking for honesty, moral values or a Christian woman. I finally said, "OK God, I get this. You want me to trust in you, not some jerk". LOL I understood all the tips you gave about their profile picture. What happened to making a good first impression? Keep up the great job with your videos, at least I can laugh about some of the problems we all face. P.S. Hi Sandra--stumbled upon your video & I'm glad I did! I’m a widow also & just passed 10 yrs. I think for 3 mos. , you are doing very well indeed & have your head on straight. I walked around in circles for over a yr. as my husband was sick for all but 5 yrs. Of our marriage & when he passed, I wondered what I was going to do with myself as I was always waiting for the next shoe to drop. I totally agree about remarrying but a companion would be a good thing as I have not met anyone of interest even tho I dated maybe 3-4 times in 10 yrs.! Your comment about dating sites are so accurate!!! I look at them a couple of times a week but those bathroom shots & the fish pictures are a total turnoff! OH my gosh you are to funny! Really made me laugh! Oxygen, for real, the poor guy can't have long to live then. At least my father didn't live very long when he was on oxygen. A roll of garbage bags around his neck! At home nudist, well my auntie had a couple that she cleaned their house every week for. They were nudist's and even when she cleaned. Well 40 years or so ago, I remember she told me that one day he walked past her and she twanged him. Well he came back shortly and said to her look what you just did! I for some reason never have forgotten that story. I had met them both too at one time. Just too funny.

Sandy, I 'm knew to your video and so happy I found you. I did the dating seen and yes did meet a few nice gentlemen but decided it's not for me, I actually married one who ended up being a terrible alcoholic and as time went on I realized he was a narcissist. He was a pharmacist and stopped drinking for years. Well, started drinking and he was a completely different person. A monster!!! I just was a lonely widow and made a huge mistake. Thanks Sandy! These are so true and those last two are funny! I’ve had fun on dating sites. I was married for 18 years, then my ex-husband left me for another woman. I thought I would die from the sorrow. A few years after the divorce, I got engaged to a man I knew professionally. I was happy. Unfortunately, he broke up with me about 18 months ago. I haven’t dated since. I’ve been taking a heart break. I’m retiring next year and want to solo travel for a while, and then I’ll start dating again. I get lonely sometimes, but I like my own company. I still believe that God will send a new and good love and I’ll get married again.
