Internationally-acclaimed photographer Yousuf Karsh was known for his revealing portraits of the most famous people in the world, including Martin Luther King, Winston Churchill and Queen Elizabeth II. And in 1953, he turned his lens on the hard-working miners of Newfoundland’s Bell Island. The CBC’s Mike Rossiter explains how much his work meant to the men and their descendants.
