@@DavidManningvlog depending on how Adobe handles it, you might have to pay tax at Adobe for full price each month. And you pay tax on the MX Creative Studio too. Well, I do because there's about 10% sales tax here. But it's still only $40 (for me) and $20 for others... and a heck of a bargain. Thanks for your video, I ordered immediately!

The most important question is: Does the large dial have instant response to when you turn it and when the slider you set it to move on screen moves? Is it smooth and does it feel as quick as a mouse. Because i had that Loupedeck CT and as cool as the device looks there was a deal breaking lag in the all of the dials and the software that it make it completely useless to use. Would love to use one of these tools if they actually were spot on acurate and fast
@photographiezautrement
@photographiezautrement Күн бұрын
I Use Loupedeck CT and there is absolutely no lag. It is instant. And Loupedck CT is way way way more powerful than this Logitech stuff. Loupedeck CT allows you to assign a button for each slider. Having only one button and having to hover over the slider to determine which one will be assigned is of very very little interest...
@DavidManningvlog
@DavidManningvlog Күн бұрын
The buttons on the keypad correspond to the tools in Lightroom. You put the keypad on the left side of your keyboard and the dial on the right side of your keyboard. Your left hand taps which slider. you want to adjust, then your right hand adjusts the dial. It's an insanely fast way to edit
@photographiezautrement
@photographiezautrement Күн бұрын
@@DavidManningvlog Hello David. With this system you must first select the tool, so click once on a button (or 3 clicks if your tool is on page 2) THEN turn the button. On Loupedeck CT, you don't have to select first. You turn one of the 6 notched rotary buttons (you can adjust the granularity of the rotation) and Lightroom instantly adjusts and incidentally opens the corresponding right section on the software. You can therefore switch from contrast to "highlights" for example, instantly without selecting anything. In fact, you can even adjust both at the same time... The large rotary button (without notches) allows you to act on a 7th setting. It has a central touch screen on which you can program up to 4 actions, and swipe it to access other "pages" of settings The 6 rotary buttons can also be pushed for example to reset the setting to zero. we also have a touch screen with 12 buttons that can be swiped to access another page. A new page brings 12 other buttons and 6 other rotary settings. In addition to all that we have a series of 8 programmable push buttons too Not to mention the permanent buttons: validate, return, cancel, save show the keyboard, two function buttons that "double" the keyboard, left arrow right arrow left arrow up arrow down To summarize we can act simultaneously and without having to select anything, on 7 lightroom settings simultaneously. As for me I use it with my left hand, which leaves my right hand free, to possibly touch the mouse or the keyboard. And I do not leave the right panel of the software open. I go "by eye" while looking only at my photo and not the cursors on the software (or the buttons on the deck). We can program any parameter in any Lighroom module. LR adapts to actions on the loupedeck and if you do actions with the mouse in LR, Loupedeck switches according to what you have just done with the mouse. And of course Loupedeck also adjusts to any software change (instantly). A click on the Finder (for example) and Loupedeck displays the settings page for the finder, then returns to Lightroom as soon as you click in the LR window Concrete example: if I want to "horizontalize" the sea in a series of 30 seascape photos, I will do everything with Loupedeck CT only in a few seconds, without touching the mouse or the keyboard: the big central button performs the rotation and the arrows allow you to move on to the next photo. On the screen of the central button, I have programmed a "return to zero" of the rotation. Of course for each photo, there are still the 6 other rotary buttons to make adjustments. And the touch buttons allow you to copy and paste a setting from one photo to another or apply a Lightroom preset. So yes, the Logitech provides a little help with editing, but it is absolutely incomparable with Loupedeck CT, which remains by far the best productivity tool for Lightroom (and for any other software in fact). I would even go so far as to say that I "make money" with it ;)

Overall it looks like a nice product. However i've got one major problem with it: mousewheels exist (and somehow it feels like everyone forgets they do). In the end, most of the functionalities can be done with keyboard and mouse just fine. In case you want some more control, it's still possible to get a gaming mouse with extra keys (i really miss the Logitech G600 with 12 thumb keys and one key for the ring finger, but there are enough other similar mice) and a gaming keyboard (to customize or rebind keys based on the currently active program). you can easily rebind either the F#-keys or the numpad ones, and there's even options with additional macro-keys e.g. to the left of the keyboard. Total cost would be around 100€ here (if i'm sticking to the brand of my choice, others could even be less, idk), and that's considering you have a keyboard and mouse included in that cost. You get 12 keys for the thumb (mouse) and a 100% layout keyboard (dedicated F#-keys, numpad and 6 macro keys to the left), so if you're willing to "sacrifice" all the mentioned keys, that could give you 47 keys you can use for keybinds, opening application or using typical keys (e.g. arrows) on the mouse, while also having a dial though the mouse wheel (and technically most mouses have additional keys behind the mouse wheel which you could use to switch between profiles to get the same functionality as switching pages). The console only gives you 2 dials and around 13-ish keys, making it around as flexible as my mouse (i paid 48€ for it). The only 2 benefits of a console or deck are the keys have lcd-displays (although if you use the programs enough, you wont look at the keys anyways) and the possibility to install custom setups instead of needing to do all the work on your own. It's a nice gimmick, but sadly it's very far from unique in it's function.
@DavidManningvlog
@DavidManningvlog 2 күн бұрын
Totally understand that you can reprogram your keyboard to do some of these tasks similarly, but this is by far a better way to do it, especially with the LCD screens that tell you what the button you're pressing does. A few other pretty sweet screens that I've setup are text inputs. I made a whole screen (9 buttons) different text inputs that I repeatedly have to type. My email address, phone number, mailing address, a few generic responses for text messages. All just a single button press on the Creative Console. Again, you can totally do similar things in other ways, but to have this sitting next to your keyboard is next level and if you're an Adobe Creative Cloud subscriber, you're looking at shelling out an extra $20🙌
@markkempton4579
@markkempton4579 2 күн бұрын
True, but I love my current mouse (which I also have programmed to help with LR and Photo Mechanic), but the hardware you're talking about costs at least as much as this, and this is smaller and portable and I can take it to work remotely with a laptop w/o dragging a full-size keyboard with me. It's no more gimmicky than a "gaming keyboard".
@andreas_rr
@andreas_rr 2 күн бұрын
@@markkempton4579 at least here i can get the two mentioned parts for about half the price of the console, and even ignoring the keyboard, even the mouse alone has 12 buttons + mouse wheel and costs less than 50€ (vs 230€ for the console). and you can't tell me a gaming mouse is bulkier to use comparedd to having a mouse AND two additional pieces. And please explain to me what you think is "gimmicky" about a gaming keyboard. It's just a keyboard except you get software support to remap keys and background lighting. Sure, some fancier ones might have additional features, but thats not the ones we're talking about. And if you mean that using a keyboard additional to a laptop is "gimmicky", thats another pair of shoes.

I'm sure I could contact Adobe support, but seems quicker to ask you given your claim: I'm a creative cloud subscriber for years. How do you get 3 months free when you're already paying for it? Adobe recognizes some code you provide after purchase and doesn't charge you the normal rate for three months? If so this is a no brainer. If I'm misunderstanding and the 3 months free is to get you to sign up than I'd reconsider, although $200 for any professional tool is a rounding error.

honestly i dont mind the catch too much. But man 67€ per month is a f'ing ripoff for anyone not using it professionally, and then again, professionals might not care as much about the 201€ saved. As an "average consumer" i'd rather buy some more gear or anything than spending 804€ *per year* on the adobe creative account. Just thinking of it, that's roughly the equal to a (insert 800€ lens of your choice, e.g. the RF 800mm F/11 in my case), or 2-3 action cams or up to 4 drones (the DJI neo being probably the cheapest beginner drone at 200€)... every. single. year. For me personally there's just not a single benefit to justify that price over simply using open-source alternatives.

Looks Amazing for the pros… If I were not living on the road I would get one of those… I am not even a really at a hobbyist level yet and some of the laborious workflow issues really keep me from doing more when so much of the systems seem set up to make things harder for no good reason.... Simple example: Culling photos on my old PC I could scroll through them with the mouse or arrow keys and delete with just the delete key. Now with the Mac I have to hit COM/Del and that means lifting my hand ever photo or a really uncomfortable hand placement. I can kind of use my thumb on the arrows however years of hard work and the thumb is not as quick or agile as the fingers. WTF do I need to hit 2 keys to delete something that only goes to the trash bin anyway? Put your right hand you mouse reach across your MacBook with your left to hit the Del/Com with one had without bumping the pad? Why make things harder? Apple has a ton of little things that are just made more complex for what good reason?
Damn, Zuck did it!
