After all, the NBA is essentially a workplace, and even involuntary work transfers in the real world evoke a range of emotions. It is difficult for me to comprehend how one could be satisfied with moving from a title-contending team or a city they enjoy to a small market or a team in the process of rebuilding.

The nba isn’t a workplace they’re contractors with certain obligations most players don’t care where they play because they get paid enough to not be displaced these guys have houses in every state they work in yes culture nightlife may be different but they also usually exclusively socialize among themselves so it’s not really different going from one team to another still talking and hanging out with the same guys u did before

honestly think they would have had a worse chance if Tyrese was still there. by the time he was traded, Sac had a huge traffic jam at the 1 that was hurting Fox’s opportunity to become a superstar and Hali’s ability to maximize their potential. Sac would still be rebuilding if the trade never happened. I vividly remember punching a wall when the trade happened but Indy is building a fantastic young core with him as the centerpiece, and Sacramento ran out of patience after 16 years or so. Sabonis was the best piece the Kings could have gotten, and so was Hali for the Pacers.
