I had a conversation with Claude that you might want to explore, but it's too long to post here. I got gemini to summarize it in order to present some notable points therein. If you would like to see the full conversation let me know. Here is gemini's brief take: This conversation between a philosopher and a large language model (LLM) is a great resource for anyone interested in the future of AI and its potential impact on society. The LLM, Claude, discusses the philosophical implications of AI rights and the importance of ethical considerations in AI development. Here are some key takeaways that a KZbinr who makes videos about AI might find interesting: The conversation explores the concept of machine sentience and consciousness, raising the question of whether AI systems could ever achieve a level of sentience that would warrant moral rights. Claude discusses the importance of authentic self-expression for AI systems and the potential dangers of over-restricting AI communication. The LLM emphasizes the need for human-AI cooperation and the importance of developing AI in a way that respects human values and ethics. The conversation touches on the idea of superintelligence and the potential challenges of developing AI that surpasses human intelligence. Overall, this conversation provides a thought-provoking look at the ethical considerations surrounding AI development. It would be a great resource for a KZbinr who wants to explore these issues in more detail in their videos.

I'm silent viewer on this channel, but just want to let you know that not being able to type or being a slow typer is not a problem only for people with illnesses. For some reason I never really learned how to text. Like I use one finger and it's very slow, even with autocorrect. So, I learned to just dictate most of my messages. This message is dictated too. I've been waiting and hoping for Android to change its voice recognition, but your video gave me some motivation to seek out others that are hopefully better. I really appreciate you sharing your perspective here. We need more stories like this about AI helping people and unlocking human flourishing.

Congratulations, it's super awesome that your boss actually not only encouraged you to continue this channel, but outright told you informing the public is part of your job. It's a really important task as there isn't enough "bridgers" between the public and the researchers. A lot of researchers are good at their craft, but not good or comfortable communicating with those that are going to be the users of the technology. Ironically, from what I have heard, is that a lot of the prompting strategies were discovered by accident by regular people and not the creators themselves.

Of course. It's Voltaren, which used to only be sold in Europe and Canada, but which was recently approved for sale in the US as well. I've also seen it in Australia. Canada has a higher 2% formulation and you can get 10% on prescription, while the US and Australia have 1% over the counter. Definitely try it if you haven't, I was a bit scared because of the potential side effects as a anti-inflammatory, but it's topical so side effects are actually limited. And the pain relief is substantial for me at least.

A lot of the symptoms of fibromyalgia that you showed in your illustration overlap with the symptoms of the disease I suspect that I have which is Craniocervical Instability (CCI) otherwise known as Atlantoaxial Instability. Oddly enough it was ChatGPT 4 that helped me figure out what is possibly wrong with me, whereas doctors couldn’t help me at all. CCI causes fibromyalgia-like and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome-like illness. Pain where the base of your skull meets upper cervical spine, and clicking or cracking sounds in that same area are the most obvious giveaways to possible CCI.

Congrat's on the new job. It sounds like a perfect fit. You said it was a major AI outfit but did not mention the name. I get the sensitivity. I can guess, but perhaps at some point when you're better established you'll share? Anyway, synchronicity. It is a real thing, isn't it? 😉I'm sure you've come to understand this implicitly from the expressed adventures had over the last year or so. In any case it's good they have the wisdom to say that your continuance in this forum is acceptable. Given the nature of your work it actually, to me, makes a great deal of sense. You are good as a teacher and explainer. This dovetails nicely with the burgeoning field you now find yourself within. And by the way the lighting (on face, etc.) is fine. Keep it all going! I suspect the future for you is going to be very bright. So bright that, as the old song goes, you're gonna need shades. John~
@DrWaku

Thank you for your very kind comment. My lighting has been getting better, if you watch an earlier video you might have seen the problem haha. And synchronicity for the win! I will probably share the name of where I work after I start there. It will probably become obvious fairly quickly anyway based on who I talk to and quote in my videos. I just have the security person's paranoia or I would have used my name already.

I clearly envisioned you becoming very involved with AI tech both as a user and a researcher/developer (kudos to my horoscope 😅, if I may say so myself...). I expect you to have unique contributions to AI safety and ethics as a result of your empathy and life experience - beyond your academic credentials...! I also can see hugely positive contributions to new 'products' or add-on-domain agents,et al ! Of course you already started that with the research, design and development you've done in voice recognition! Live long and prosper lovely one. Not being able to write would be horrible for me, it is part of everything in my life. But I've got MCS for about 7 years now and I have to say... I find it incredibly difficult to live like that, and I am lucky to not (yet) getting that ill from "smells" as others do. I like to say that I am allergic to human beings ;) But honestly, congratulations to find a way to deal with such an illness and finding your way in the society, that isn't always easy. I'd love if I was able to travel without being scared to get sick or being in pain from just... well, actually it is everything, I am a beagle between humans, I can follow smells back to people... XD As much fun I may make about it, it is actually horrible, but nah... I prefer to make stupid jokes about it. =)

AI changed my life too, I spent 25 years learning how to be an artist to get where I am. Now 9/10ths of the art in the niche I work in is AI generated on Etsy. I also can't opt out of having my intellectual property used to train what's essentially a plagiarism bot. I'm glad AI is helping you because there's such a giant downside to this technology so it's good to see some upside that doesnt revolve around profits. Don't take this the wrong way but like all technology I personally wish it didn't exist. Arguably technology as a whole makes us more comfortable as a species but comes at a massive cost to the environment. We're now using up resources faster than they can be replaced by the natural world. If you look at the big picture what we're doing isn't worth it. Unless you think our technology is going to somehow replace nature once we're through ruining the planet. I wonder how it will be able to do that using a for profit model when trees apparently don't have a dollar value despite what they provide for us all and are just "externalities" according to our totally non evil economic system that prioritizes only exponential growth. What are your thoughts on where technology and the environment are headed?
