Air compressors are used for various applications to provide air at pressure. Typical service and control air systems require air at approx. 7 bar (87 psi). Air systems are used to power hand tools (air tools), start combustion engines, spray paint work, and for general cleaning applications. This video shows:

You should know that Chuck Norris used an air compressor in his youth, then abandoned it because he recharged the tank faster by mouth than with the pump. He ended up abandoning the compressor and blowing directly on the bolts to unblocked it; it was ultimately more effective
