How are we supposed to test LO pressure in air compressor..to make sure high pressure alarm is working
@ShrimptoShark3 жыл бұрын
Hey dude, high pressure alarm isn't tested and where I have worked this alarm doesn't exist... THERE IS a low pressure ALARM AND TRIP to protect the compressor from running without lube oil flow and overheating... This is tested by closing the valve to the presostat and verifying the compressor stop.. It will run with oil but the presostat won't sense the pressure anymore and cause the trip.
@berkayozer63142 жыл бұрын

Hi, could you tell me how much ton of your ship's boiler capacity, steam pressure, working pressure, & water capacity? Thanks in advance
@ShrimptoShark5 жыл бұрын
Heya dude, in a suezmax oil tanker with steam turbine pumps the Mission TM boilers gave max 16 bar pressure (for cargo operation) or 8 bar pressure (low mode navigation), water pressure 8 bar (low mode economize pump) or 25 bar (auxiliary boiler pump), and the water capacity is 18tons.. Total steam capacity 35.000kg/hr at max load..in any case all info is found in the manual.
@jndeprez43623 жыл бұрын
Atlas Copco BT & KT are the best (from the '80), .... cast iron piston compressor or slow speed screw compressor with large and solid oil cooler are still the best and most reliable investment. I don't like 'VSD' because a compressor has to run at a minimum speed to get a good return. - GA 808 and now ??? Best buy is the lowest kw. of a series! (E.g., a type with a 37kw. - 45kw. - 75kw. / best is 'the 37kw') with the 45kw. & 75kw. only the gearing is changed and the compressor element runs at high speed. IPV VSD buy 3 compressors and install in cascade !

How about the purpose of relief valve in compressor
@ShrimptoShark2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, in cause for some reason the flow of air gets stuck and pressure rises above the working purpose these valves will open and allow excess pressure to escape to the atmosphere (with very loud noise hahaha). If they don't work you risk damaging gaskets or the line itself!
