How airport baggage handler keep your baggage 👍

I'm not complaining about how airport luggage staff handling our baggage just feel sad when my staff are bursting and broke after many heavy baggage on top of each other, especially mine.
Anyway, it is what it is.
About our us DnS TravelForce
We are couple, Daniel (from USA) & Sros (Bella) from Cambodia, we love to travel. Currently, we live East Africa but mostly we travel to Cambodia and Thailand. Our current vlog.

I was a ground staff for airline i sometimes helped loaders to load bags from pallets to containers so it can get on arrival belts and the trick is we throw the bags like a shortput balls 😂 u just have to pray for ur bags 😂

The first load of suitcases has to arrive very quickly so that the companies are not fined for having empty belts, so you have to be one of the last to put suitcases so that they do not damage them

He's handling it good. He protects his back from letting the weight stress it from that bad angle. The bag can be up to 30kg but standard is between 10-20, a bad lift can take you out.

If you have to put anything fragile in your suitcase, pack it bang in the middle of your clothes. Even better wrap bubble wrap around it for good measure. Lastly, if possible, take it with you in hand luggage. Safest way to keep your valuables safe from theft and damage.

As a ramp agent I must say we aren’t trained to carefully place every bag in the carts, most of the time we “throw” suitcases it’s in a way it won’t get damaged and most suitcases are built to be handled like this, we have a certain time limit and it’s 1000x cheaper (literally) to buy you a new suitcase than delaying the flight to handle luggage with care

@@warpthumr47 Well im talking from both sides,passenger,worker! They slide in carts and in aircraft! There is no give when stacking and slippery to stack on top! Zippers blow out easier! They will slide off belt loaders! And those dings,sometimes they have sharp edges! But I'm glad you've been lucky!

As someone who worked in the airport 1: don’t pack anything expensive in your hold luggage. 2: if you buy a hard shell case, don’t expect to remain in perfect condition and unscratched. 3: baggage handlers load bags on and off planes, they are usually responsible if they go missing, usually they fall off carts and no one seems them.

Hey thanks for the comment. We normal keep those expensive items in our carry-on. Yeah, we expect that too even we buy the hard cell expensive luggage that is not gonna keep everything perfect. It is what it is. So mostly, what I'm trying to do is to pack the fragile items super carefully now in those bags. So, yeah it turn out better 😊. Oh I did not know the bags could fallen and no one knew, I thought they scanned the wrong code from previous travel on the luggage.

Also on arrival in Japan you collect your bag(s) from the carousel then go to an internal exit gate where an attendant carefully checks that the number on the sticker on the bag is the same as your boarding pass check number. If not then a lot more checking. All very polite but serious. So don't throw away your boarding pass.

Oh that’s the least of it. Right after you drop off you luggage on the belt, it’s usually punched out into a pile with the other luggage from multiple flights (usually this is where your luggage gets lost). Sometimes depending on the airport, there is more than just one belt and punch. Then they get that pile and throw your luggage onto the car. Then they stack them like this so when you get to your destination and open your bag you have a smoothie to celebrate that you arrived safely. Because after paying $50+ for our luggage to go to the same place we’re going to, what we want is a smoothie of products we also purchased with our own money. But hey at least they give us a bag of peanuts and coffee filter water.

My luggage is made by Monos. I put their luggage cover over the bag and then wrap clear shipping tape over the plastic liner...the clear shipping tape protects the luggage cover from rips and tears from the airport conveyor belts and the ruff handing...the luggage cover protects the suitcase from scuffs and scratches...my Monos luggage still looks perfect after a few internation and domestic flights..you have to spend the extra money on good luggage instead of the bargain luggage you see at Walmart or farmers markets if want your luggage to survive the airports...quialty matters

Question: Is that why they make hard shell and soft shell luggage? Not for personal preference, but for purpose? I.E. hard shell if a baggage handler is going to throw it. Or soft shell if you're loading the bags yourself into your car for a cross-country road trip?

My tip Is to get a hardshell And pack it so it's acting like Its full. I packed mine to have space for souveniers, but also the clothes fill up the suitcase, so I could easily just zip it. I didn't have to sit on it. and for the way back, I had 2-3 of those rolling vacuum bags fpr my clothes, so I had more space for those souveniers. Works everytime for me.

When i was in thailand and i was flyig thailand to paris and then my thing was missing my bag came but my perfume and my food was missing its was in January 15 2024 and we dont find it cuz all the other bag was with a band so you have to get a number to unlock it but not the 1 bag and its so weird

I never check luggage. I don't care how long I'm going to be gone. I fit everything in my backpack. They always say it has to go in the overhead or fit under the seat. I set it on the floor and cover it with my legs. Never had an issue.

That is a smart way, too. I do the same with my beach bag (because this bag has so much room to put stuffs in) so I kept under my legs. But the check in bag we always do because when we visit family overseas, we bring a lot of items back home.

That's why we pack our delicate electronics in hard sided cases with specially shaped foam inserts. The case walls are laminated layers of steel and kevlar.

That's the smart way to do that. For us we always bring our electronics items on carry on but sometimes is too much to carry with us, so we decided to check our carry on bag but some makeup item was broken (the powder, and lotions)

Right, we saw in the USA that they have a lot of trolleys with 2 levels, so they don't put the bags on top of each other at least not often. I used to work at the airport as a security.. i know that. They are using guidelines and bingo sheets. Every baggage container has a designated destination and also the baggae cart. Are you familiar with the fifo?

@@dnstravelforcethe throwing is nothing. It’s the conveyor system that’s most damaging when it transports the suitcase to the tarmac. There’s slides that basically bring it to a dead stop.
