As a European, I don't "think" about culture. I AM culture. EDIT: The comment received thousands of likes until now. However, many people have accused me of various things, directly or indirectly: that I promote the superiority of European culture, or that I know nothing about European culture, that I don't respect American culture, or that I am French or Italian... I admit, the above accusations were a little bad. I've never been called French or Italian. But I reassured myself that it could be worse. They could also consider me British. (French, Italian, British - I hope you have enough humor to not go crazy in the comment section.) A short comment is like a Rorschach test. It's not explained, so everyone projects what resides inside. The one who suffers an injury responds to the injury, sometimes even when it is not there. Frustration can lead to offended and angry comments. But I'm getting tired of answering one by one. So go against my principles and explain the joke. The above sentence is a paraphrase of an early 20th-century anecdote. The original's punch line sounds like this: "I AM the civilization you are fighting for". Google it. I like this anecdote, I think the joke is typically European, so I adapted it for this occasion. Guys, I want to tell you all, next time you read a comment, pay attention to the context. It's a video on a comedy channel. According to the video, Americans think: Europeans are Frenchmen in advanced stadium of sleeping sickness, at the base of the Eiffel Tower in Lisbon. I didn't take it seriously. I was smiling and having fun. As usual with these videos. That's why I watch them. For the humor. And the acting of the charming actresses doesn't leave me disinterested, either. Peace.

@coty4100Ай бұрын
Yes, when you're learning a language, the pronouns (a) are confusing. And also time is said differently in different languages. So basically, people speak new languages by just switching translated literal words. And they use the grammar and rhythm from their native language instead of the new language they're learning.
@teax851729 күн бұрын
@@paz335 the use of "a" and "the" varies greatly in languages. in french, you'll typically find them using le/la/les in places where we might actually drop the "the" in the sentence. however, some of my asian friends, namely filipino and chinese, have stated that sometimes english is the one one with unnecessary fillers which they can find unnecessary/ redundant.
