As a HC worker allow my insight to explain the multiple shock claim after I explain, Typically they are shocked once. This is still very painful and full of suffering since the brain is fully active and the goal is to stop the heart via causing arrhythmia. Because they're killing them by basically throwing them into a man made cardiac event, they can often still expirience 'signs of life' even after this execution method. So they're basically strapped to the chair, being shocked until the heart attack, also their heart and breathing and responsiveness probably through a tactile method, like sternum rubbing, ceases. Wich is still unnecessary and very painful. Many people can still hear and feel very well after their heart has stopped, in the grand scheme of your body, your heart may be important, but it isn't your brain and this method is far from peaceful. This is what leads people into thinking they just shock a few times for shits n giggles because the heart kicking off leaves them pretty much alive everywhere else but cooking on the inside until they decide that your heart has stopped enough. if someone has a pacemaker and it survived the shock somehow it could also lead to them getting fried twice for no reason bc the heart could have stopped and they could be dead but even a dead person's pace could mimic a HR. It's a touchy area. I wouldn't put it above some to shock them a few times just to make them suffer if your executing a bad enough person.
