The word "ikigai" is usually used to indicate the source of value in one's life and the things that make one's life worthwhile. The word is also used to refer to mental and spiritual circumstances under which one feels that their life is valuable and worthy. Meraki is the labour of love, to do something with real passion, with absolute devotion and is done with all our heart, the essence of ourselves that is put into what we choose to do and how we live our life.

Thanks for this, its so simple yet many of us just dont pay attention Most people just assume they should wait for a "point" in their life wich at that they will have enough resources(mainly money) to finally start doing what they like... that is if they know what they really like.but usually that point never comes or when u get there, u wont have the passion u once had... I have no sense of purpose. For me my duty is to take care of my parents and keep them comfortable in their old age and eventually a pleasant death. I don't know what, I like. Never was I interested in anything. Maybe all the purpose to live will also vanish once my parents die.

I can’t agree with this philosophy because it devalues parenthood in favour of getting a job. Why must ikigai fulfil all four corners?

That's not at all what it does. I even say raising a family can be a source of ikigai.
