I feel so bad for mums who struggle finding routine. When I had my daughter I would start her wind down routine at 7pm. Bath, massage feed and put down by 8pm to fall asleep by herself. By 12 weeks she was sleeping from 8-5. No matter what, I never deviated. She had her first baby in December. She asked me to help her with his routine and in a couple of weeks he was sleeping from 8-4. He was also 12 weeks old. Now he sleeps from 6:30/7pm to 5am - as per his demands, we try to keep him up later but he will not allow it. Feeding is every 3 hours during the day without fail. He’s on 5 oz and 6 for his last feed. He’s started eating baby porridge once a day and the doctor said he’s thriving. Never had nappy rash as that was a concern for my daughter who was changing him throughout the night, not now though. The most she has to do is return his dummy to him. For me, the most important thing is to read his cues as they’ll let you know what they need vs what they want. I’m a believer in encouraging independence in children so they gain confidence. He’s in my arms most of the day and let’s us know when he’s tired so he can be put down to sleep. He’s such a good baby and very confident and my daughter is a happy mum.

What do you do if your baby cries until the time you are able to feed again (ie. if you feed at 7, and are planning to feed at 10 but they wake at 9 and cry until 10)?
