Yep I have heard of that! Try printing directly to the Sawgrass and NOT going through their program to print.

Mine did the same thing - if you print from another program it will be ok. I also printed from Cricut design space

@@Wendy4G now they did another update and you cannot use that printer without using their ink. It has alerts. You cannot print unless you buy that ink their ink.

Angie, have you or anyone you know tried the Hiipoo brand ink made for the Sawgrass printers? If so, what were the results.

I will never purchase any of their equipment again. After having mine for a year, my prints started having grid lines on the paper. Come to find out, Sawgrass sent out updates where it is now forcing you to purchase THEIR ink by recognizing you’re not using “authentic ink” which is 300 dollars vs the 70 dollars I pay for aftermarket ink”. If you try to print outside their program for example Photoshop, they will print in low quality. Basically you purchased a product that they have CONTROL over as if they still own it. Just an absolutely disgusting company.

unfortunately mine too :( and the only way around it that I have found a tad helpful is printing directly to the SG500 but it "prints too fast" and makes thin hair lines which is just not good for sublimation prints. i am looking for a generic Sub printing software to get around this . good luck to us both !

There is a work around this however you need your old original Sawgrass cartridges and you take the chips off the old original Sawgrass cartridges and exchange them on the new cheap cartridges BEFORE you do the update. If you do it like this then you will not have any issues. Basically they have 3m sticky stuff on the chips so you just remove both and exchange and voila no more issues.

Before, i would recommend the Sawgrass but now they have released updates to where you cannot use aftermarket ink and only theirs which is about 400 dollar. Now i recommend Epson.

Don’t buy a Sawgrass printer!! Off brand ink doesn’t work. Sawgrass forces updates to their printers that makes your printer print a grid line over every print.

They are discontinuing print manager completely so I am not sure if anyone will be able to use it.

I would not use it in that printer as you will probably have color issues.

@@AngieHolden I was just comparing it with how I do it. I had bought an epson 1430 on facebook for only 200 bucks. installed compatible empty ink cartridges in it and filled them with sublimation ink.. it works excellent for the fraction of the price and same results. I mean literally a fraction of the cost of ink.

How are you able to print using a Sawgrass printer and off-brand ink? My Sawgrass has sat for 6+ months because the forced firmware update disabled my printer. It will no longer recognize non-Sawgrass brand ink. I can no longer run my business.

It worked for me the first time. It may be that the cartridges you have use an outdated chip.
