How refreshing for Anderson to speak truth…with such class and grace. The truth is the truth not many can communicate it so maturely and clearly… especially if it hurts and has consequences! God bless him for not following the pack…packs can carry many secrets that harm us all!!

Now compare him with CNN and MSNBC hosts... You should get an idea of what's going on if you don't have a learning disability. Have you ever fact checked these people on your own? For instance, Tucker Carlson is the most scrutinized man in news and hardly ever has to recant a story while Brian Stelter, Don Lemon, Chris Cuomo, etc get caught lying constantly and nothing happens... No lame Twitter outrage, no call for cancellation, nothing. Ask yourself why

Stephen is right about the staff meeting prior to the firing. I work at a medium sized law firm, and a couple years ago they had to fire an attorney who had done some inappropriate stuff, and they called a staff meeting to tell us about the firing, and to not speak to the media and to not google about it. It was stupid, though, because calling the meeting just made us all aware of it and of course then we were googling and gossiping LOL

MSNBC did some, too - multiple ones on basically the same topics, in fact - and online news groups did, too. I know MSN did, and I think TYT did, too, though they're too abrasive for me to watch much of them. I know more did I print, as well, like newspapers - LA Times & NY Times did, I know. No doubt more did, too. All of this just goes to prove you're just not looking in the right places for this information. @@tobiramasenju6290 What are you copy and pasting this on any message you think will be popular enough? Stephen is a talk show host and a comedian not a policy specialist or politician. If you want to point fingers about who hasn't been talking about policy look at the Republican party, that's how a two party system is suppose to work in favour of the people, on party puts forward a bill, another party counters and says "this would be better for the people if we changed this" and then they get votes based on what the people believe is in their best interest. Except now you have one party trying to pass policy and the other party trying to stop people from voting to grab as much power as they can ruining democracy and focusing on anything but policy. At the end of the day companies like CNN are doing what's in the interest of their share holders and that means making money. Anderson Cooper wrote a memoir about his growing up life with his mom, Gloria Vanderbilt Cooper. (He lost both his only brother ...as well as his dad, when he was a young guy living around New York City with his family. ) His mother was famous for old family wealth , and being a fabulous New Yorker. His dad was just some guy... who wasn’t famous ...there at all. Grief and profound loss were very much apart of Anderson’s life then. He wrote about finding himself and how he started working in journalism and going overseas to do that type of work. He learned it well and discovered that he also loved being with ...people and writing his thoughts down on paper. (So, I already watched him on CNN. The book was interesting and that’s why I was able to recall his growing up tales tonight.) Yup! Now he’s a dad. Yup! That’s wonderful as well. Thanks Stephen Colbert for this evening with Anderson Cooper. Yup!

Unfortunately not a very strong answer from AC on his response. I understand Cuomo was a colleague and friend, but you should also be able to say it wasn't right. He only said journalists have to abide by a code of ethics and standards, and then did a shoulder shrug. The way Colbert laid into the CBS exec in his own monologue some years back was a strong response.
@xnonsuchx
@xnonsuchx 2 жыл бұрын
Maybe he didn't know all the details, but just didn't question CNN's judgment that some behavior went too far for them. And not nearly the same thing as the sexual harassment accusations against "the CBS exec," which even Colbert included "if true" in his response.
@SussexSandra
@SussexSandra 2 жыл бұрын
He said journalism is built on ethics. And he mentioned repercussions several times regarding straying from this code of ethics. IMO he answered well without getting into a personal attack on Cuomo. It’s not ACs style to attack others.
@luuketaylor
@luuketaylor 2 жыл бұрын
@@SussexSandra he doesn't need or have to attack anyone, but even if my friend does something outside the bounds of ethics, I should be able to say it wasn't okay. I do understand his position as a public figure, but it just felt like he was skirting around a real answer.

Here is the factual lowdown: - Cant blame Chris Cuomo for sticking to his brother. Not ever. He didnt manipulate reporting on his show, after all - he didnt report on it at all! 😅 - Can blame Chris Cuomo for being very cozy with his brother's PR staff, giving advice and such. He should have done that through his brother exclusively - see above. 🤦🏻‍♂️ - I dont know about the allegations of misconduct any more than anyone else not involved. But it broke the camel's back with CNN executives... Bottom line: Termination justified based on stupidity and a broken camelback.
