Flandy Buntoro Man mark the guy with a player with incredible stamina.
@iqramcheonn12495 жыл бұрын
@@mariobarcelon3247 flandy buntoro said it already
@satriyanto67415 жыл бұрын
@@mariobarcelon3247 man mark him means asking some one to marking a player so far up front since pirlo always wander around so deep in the densive zone. If you ask some defensive player to mark him (e.a a ball winning midfielder or box to box midfielder like park ji sung), that means you are making your defensive area vurnerable. playing so deep makes pirlo have so much area to wander around. Marking him will make someone to wander around to cover a wide area. It's so much diferent to man mark a player inside your own half field area like marking attacking playmaker or trequartista since it'd be a narrower space because you have more man in that area. In Milan, the team has seedorf and also Kaka, some time with rui costa. If you ask the likes of Park Ji Sung to spent his time to closing down pirlo so far up front to cover that wide area, you let seedorf and kaka wrecking havoc in your defensive area. Yes, park ji sung has so much stamina, but that stamina would be wasted spent to covering some one up while leaving a big hole at the defense. If you insist to use this kind of approach by adding more defensive type of midfielder, your team would be lackin in playmaker type for midfielder. In a way, you ask your team to give up the game and be defensive. Another way to man mark Pirlo without leaving a hole in your midfield is to ask one of your offensive player to closing him down (another defensive team approach). Asking one of your offensive player to man mark the enemy will cost him to be uneffective when his team need him for attacking purpose since most stamina and his focus spent to mark Pirlo. Don't forget that it's so rare to see an offensive player can be effective to mark the like of Pirlo. Even if Pirlo play so deep in defensive area, he is naturally offensive player with great technique and vision. Asking Park Ji sung to man mark Pirlo so far at the front line would make MU play like a defensive team by placing more ball winning midfielder in the team since you will need more ball winning type to handle seedorf and kaka in the deep area. And all pirlo need to cast the man mark out is just one feint or one touch pass. Most of the time, he only need 1 s time to deliver a pass. If you try to play roughly, he knows how to bait a foul with his weak body. Well, actually, there was time Pirlo loss the ball by rough play, he try to dive but no foul, and then Gattuso tackle the one who steal the ball. Gattuse get the foul, but that's all. They never afraid to lose the ball, they are not possesion hunger team who always afraid losing the ball. They always welcome a game with so many turn over since thay like to play counter. Every time they see a chance they deliver risky pass, an ambisus pass with low ratio to be connected. They bever afraid to lose the ball. Actually, an agressive team with high defensive line will make counter attacking to be more dangerous. It easier to break high pressure team with counter rather than a team with less pressure. If enemy giving more pressure too far at the front line, it will make a counter attack to be more effective. They're not going to keep the possession. They just deliberately send killer pass. Since they often play counter game, the team always ready to cover the defensive area. Juve uses 5-3-2 formation, Milan uses 4-1-2-1-2 diamond or 4-2-3-1 with two defenvie midfielder. Both of those formation being used with counter approach. A slight defensive who always aim for quick turn over. They always ready to a quick turn over since most of his midfielder are play with counter mindset including their offensive playmaker like seedorf or Pogba for Juve. Look at MU vs Milan champion league. 3-2 at old trafford and 3-0 at San Siro. Who was the player who control that game. It was Kaka and Seedorf. And you want to use park ji sung to man mark Pirlo who play so deep in his safe zone area?! If Sir Alex really did that, it'd be worst than that. Any defender can deliver a long pass to seedorf and Kaka. They never hesistate to send long pass with low ratio. They are not possession hunger team like nowadays football.

You cannot compare Pirlo to someone with the likes of Zidane. Yes, both of them are exceptionally gifted with the touch of the ball & are sound with the ball at their feet, But Pirlo’s dictates the pace of the game, something that Zidane can’t do. I am not throwing shade at Zizou, he’s my most favourite player of all time. But Zizou is a game changing player, while Pirlo changes the game. Great analysis on a great player Piotr.

IMO man-marking Pirlo is the best strategy if your aim is to limit his influence. Pirlo said it himself in his book that all he ever wants in football is that little bit of space where he can do his thing. He's claustrophobic. Ji Sung-Park was his least favourite opponent because he was fit enough and drilled enough to stay on Pirlo the entire 90mins. However, this tactic does sacrafice a midfielder committed solely to marking Pirlo while in the defense phase. So it has it's risks. Also adding that Pirlo was a genius who could come up with a moment of inspiration at any time to escape his marker. Brown for Celtic comes to mind.
@PiotrFoot7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, there are two things actually Either you can stop Pirlo, or you can stop him from being influential for his team From all the games I've watched, it is more efficient to block the whole team even if Pirlo is free than just focusing on one player (= one player committed to one task instead of doing various things as you said) Manmarked Pirlo might touch the ball less times, but under pressure of various players he is just unguardable, he would alway play one touch or have that little bod feint, etc
@primocalcio21417 жыл бұрын
I love this discussion. Pirlo is maybe the only midfielder that OPPOSITION teams would have to focus their game around. He's such an intelligent and adaptable player that no matter how you played him he'd find a way. I remember at Euro 2012 even the English pundits were centering their pregame analysis on how to limit Pirlo. I don't recall this happening for Scholes, Xavi, Alonso, Gerrard, Kroos, etc... In my years of watching football I have never seen a deep lying midfielder be the protagonist of a team. Cheers!

It was not synchronised and so left others in lots of space leaving Pirlo to be able to exploit it. How do you think Pirlo would fair in a game against Klopps Liverpool where they have synchronised high pressure? Also, what is your opinion on man marking? and would it be or has it been effective on Pirlo? Thank you, keep up the good content!
