How Anger Ruined My Big Client Meeting

A businessman is preparing to meet with the biggest new potential client for the first time in person. He’s been working on meeting this client for weeks, and the client was finally in town and agreed to meet for lunch. The businessman was ecstatic to have the opportunity to wow his boss and land a big win for the company. A few hours before the meeting the businessman gets stuck in traffic and is in a crunch for time to get home get ready and be early for the lunch meeting. So, to save time he calls his wife to pick up his suite from the cleaners since the cleaners were around the corner from the grocery store. Eventually the businessman gets home moments after his wife gets home and she is still unloading groceries from the car. he rushes to get the suite from the wife greets her and races into the house to shower and get dressed. Once out of the shower he looked at the suite and it was the wrong suite. It was for a man with a last name but a different first name and the suite was way too small. The businessman was out enraged and starts to yell at his wife blaming her for not noticing it was the wrong suit. He was already beginning to run behind and the arguing with his wife set him back a little further. He puts on a different suit and races out the door. While driving he begins to text and confirm the meeting. and runs out of the car holding the keys to valet and forgets his phone in his car. He races to confirm the reservation and gets the table to prepare and review his notes on his phone and realizes he was in such a rush he forgot his phone in his car. and races to the valet to get them to get his phone out of his car and the valet guys take offence at him rushing and dragging his feet to find his car to find his phone. While waiting to get his phone his client arrives early, and he is now unprepared and without a phone to reference and make sure he doesn’t forget anything. the man puts on a fake smile and greets his client. Lunch went on and he bombed the meeting and lost the client because he forgot many of the topics and because he didn’t have his phone. After lunch he was beginning to boil over in disappointment. Once he went to valet, he made a huge stink to the valet guy and when the valet responded with “chill out man it's not my fault you can’t close a deal. The businessman flips out and punches the guy in the face, just to realize the manager had called the police. Once sitting behind the police car, the flashback scene comes to the businessman recognizing how he could have made his day better by not escalating the situations and by taking accountability for each action made. He recognized that his anger took over him, to the point he was blinded and couldn't focus on a real solution. If he could only go back, he would have made sure he had planned accordantly and have not lost control of himself. The end.
