How Animals Survive the Winter (Wildlife Documentary)

Winter casts a very special, magical spell. It’s a time for traditions and customs: snowmen come to life, Santas wander through brightly-lit Christmas markets, much to the delight of the children.
But indigenous animal life pays no heed to this human idyll. For them, winter is a time of austerity. Squirrels, boars and lynx all have their own strategy for surviving the winter. But despite an amazing ability to adapt, the fight for survival is hard - and can often only be won with the help of human beings.
The film takes us on a journey through wintry Germany - underscored by a childlike enthusiasm for the cold season. Snow-covered fairy-tale landscapes, unusual wildlife stories and touching tales about animals create a special heart-warming winter atmosphere that not even adults can escape:
Contemplative, amusing and fascinating all at the same time, the film lyrically illustrates the charm of an enchanting Christmas Winter Wonderland.

While I adore this documentary & it is one of my favorites, isn't it a re-upload or is it being recycled through other documentary YT channels? Because I have seen it before, at least twice. I won't complain as I said I love it, very high quality plus my favorite season, landscapes & animals! Thank you for sharing again during the holidays 🌲❄️🦌

So Amazing, Beautiful, Captivating, Delectable, Engrossing, Fabulous, & Glorious that I can't help feeling in awe to all the people who were engaged in the creation of this singular doc.. Especially, those cameramen certainly deserve a pat on the back for a job well done, for they had to endure for night & day w/ an infinite patience to obtain those brilliant, unforgettable, & unmissable momentous shots consecutively in the face of some adverse conditions. The post production team such as audio men w/ the background music, editors, a script writer, a rather rare female narrator w/ that mellow & warm tone of her voice, etc., they too did a great job, but did it so at the opulent comfort of the studio in their country, which is the core difference from the cameramen. My heartfelt gratitude from rather warm California. (12/29/23)

The jumping fox with his head in the snow to catch a snack,must be an all time favorite in any - winter - episode?! Und wie halt so oft, eigentlich nur so, weil ich brauche es nicht, hatte ich auch die deutsche Simultanübersetzung mitgeschaltet. Und habe doch einige zeit gebraucht um zu begreifen was - Pelzbäume - sind. ( Die Englische Sprecherin spricht hat -Fichte - und Pelz, - fir - das eine und - fur - das andere gleich aus.) Aber die AI Übersetzung macht halt Pelzbäume daraus...

In particular, I enjoyed & appreciated the following episodes; 1) at 22:58, the white throated dipper or a little bird did dive & swim into the river in the grip of a relentless freezing cold winter! 2) from 44:43 to 44:55, 8 times in succession, the poor fox failed to dive into the inside of the snow resulting in a sore bruised nose! I really felt sorry for the fox, but that scene put a big smile on my face. These footages somewhat seem to defy the laws of nature. I wonder if anyone else feels the same,,,,Hence, my kudos & praise upon them all concerned in the production. (12/29/23)
