Some numbers : 1000 posts a month on 25 sites, that's an average of 40 posts per month per site (1,3 per day). 50M pageviews in total, that's an average of 200k pageviews per site. $200k in total, average of $8k per site, $4 per 1000 pageviews. $200k per month isn't that much money for a team of 50 people with 2 owners and some additional freelance writers ... unless it's profit, which isn't clear from the interview.

Here are the key points about keyword research and niche selection: Niche selection criteria: Anne Moss considers four main criteria when selecting a niche: search volume, competition, ease of content creation, and RPM potential (revenue per thousand pageviews). Keyword research: Anne Moss and her team use a variety of tools to do keyword research, but they don't rely solely on these tools. They also manually check the search results to see if the top ranking websites are actually relevant to the search intent. Long-tail keywords: Anne Moss prefers to target long-tail keywords that are less competitive. However, she acknowledges that it is getting harder to find these types of keywords. Importance of user intent: When doing keyword research, it is important to consider the user's intent. Just because a keyword has a low competition level doesn't mean it's a good keyword to target if it doesn't match the intent of the searcher.

In the discussion toward the end of the video about updating content and whether it matters, it's like a lot of things in SEO - it depends. If it's a tech site and the topic is "Best Camera Phones" obviously that needs constant updating. If it's a bio on Abe Lincoln, that doesn't need any updating usually.

I like these episodes, but think it would also be helpful to occasionally throw in a more realistic blogging success story such as $100/day - or similar amount that allows most people to not have to work at a horrible job. When I see a video like this with a portfolio of websites, then I know the realities involved. Outsourcing writing and probably someone with enough income coming in to afford to pay for outsourcing (rich people). But, I assume the reason nobody makes videos like this is it doesn't grab attention. If she has been creating websites since 1998, I would be shocked if she hasn't ever experienced a wordpress hack (causing rankings to drop) or has been punished by one of the Google algo updates. I guess I'd better hit the play button and find out lol

You, and anyone that upvotes this comment, should reassess your goals. $100/day is a pitiful, tiny amount of money. Why aim for so little? Your income can only be as big as your thinking. Want $5,000,000 a year, you can get it. But only if you decide to, otherwise you're scrambling around with the other small-minded critters, fighting over table scraps.

For for those questioning Anne's income, I have ZERO doubt that she is earning this with her team and output she is doing (just check out her site Yeys). I will admit it is a lot harder for someone who doesn't have any marketable skills though. Also keep in mind, they said 200k per month REVENUE, revenue vs profit is very different. I made about 20-30k per month at my day job and I love it. Then I run a trading firm as my business. Keep in mind you need to earn about 2x revenue vs your day job income to replace it and of course that varies depending on overhead.

If you think running a business is easy and you won't be a slave to that, you have a rude awakening incoming. keep in mind 95% ALL businesses FAIL and most of them do not even make as much as a normal job. If you were hoping for some sort of easy way to get rich, it doesn't exist. I worked 95 hours a week for many years to get to where I am. If you aren't willing to put in the effort necessary to run your business, don't start one. Is it possible to run a successful business? Of course, but its not going to be easy. You will spend countless hours, days, weeks, months building content and dealing with competitors stealing content. Occasionally you'll have hackers trying to exploit your website and fill it with spam or redirect to their website. Then you have to have a website that looks good enough and has good enough content to be approved for ads. It's not impossible, but it's not easy either.

she had media attention out of the box. Not the case for 99.9999999999% of web site creators. Good for her though.

So, out of that $200, she has to pay a staff salary, maybe pay health care benefits, taxes. What are her expenses? How much does she have left over for herself?

She's right about experts saying going after something you love. This is bad advice.

Not necessarily. Shes just saying its more competitive because everyone's doing that. If you can overlay that with other things like lower competition , enough traffic then it can still work. If you create content about things you love itll come through in your writing. If your outsourcing it though. Thats another story

Why not share the name of the sites so we can take a look at the content ourselves? Niche site gurus always making a secret of their website. What are you scared of

So on average her sites get 200,000 pageviews a month….. 5,000,000/ 25 sites. Seems unrealistic to me unless she is driving paid traffic and if that is the case, she’s making no where near 200k a month net
@mike-qj3gc

at 5M visitors x .04 or $40 per 1000 pageviews, that would be $200k/mo combined. Not unrealistic

I really appreciate you guys putting this together but I don't get people who are impressed with that. This is very generic advice. I spent an hour listening and half of them was 'you know', the other half was write content nobody writes, get a team, produce a lot content, don't trust the tools etc. So, I don't think 'impressed' is not the correct word there.
