I feel like the algorithm is shifting more to authenticity and simple, uncomplicated thumbnails and simple videos without tonnes of editing. So many big creators are adopting this tactic and its working

John you are correct. Exhibit A....When KZbin generates the thumbnail it never selects a Wow Face. Exhibit B, take a long awaited vacation from work....listen to the sea gulls and the waves hitting the beach....now put on a a loud fast song...naa. (You needed that song to get you through work...now you are ready to chill and watch and enjoy).

Al Gorythm, he wants to hold your attention and feed you commercials so they can pay the bills over at KZbin. The viewers have different goals in mind. I think AL is doing as you imply but pushing the limit and to the point of just shy of you turning off KZbin.

Finally started!! So much value in this video. Biggest takeaway and lesson this reinforces is the "algorithm" is really just how much people want to watch and listen to your video. My goal is to give as much value as possible, and not be too "clickbaity" or deceiving. I admit, I am struggling with trying to figure out how to provide the most value in the shortest amount of time in a way that is not boring and the viewer can feel like they truly got a piece of value that made the time worth it. I'm 100% working hard on this though!

This is such a great topic. I own very expensive camera gear and powerful computers. However a video filmed and edited on a smart phone can and will out perform professionally produced content. Storyline trumps everything. Quality is nice but most of the turn and burn content wins over overly produced content no one wants to see.

Thanks for the encouraging info in this video, guys! I've noticed some of my older vids pop in popularity and now get daily views. Makes me feel like the work I put in now to improve the value of my content will continue to serve others but also provide for me longer term vs the stuff I've typically put out that was more random or whatever I felt like creating. Not saying it's wrong to put out solely what I like, but if looking to be of value to others and myself, I need to put in that work. That's where I'm currently at on this journey, the crossroad of change for the better of all involved 😀

I have seen that video before funny enough! It is crazy to think that such an old video that delivers value to the next generation can go "viral" like that on KZbin. Just goes to show you that consistency helps on any platform. You don't know if a video you posted a year ago is going to suddenly start getting more and more views because of everything that you have done. Success for me was when I uploaded my first video. After that I've just been laughing at failure but doing anything I want; enjoying freedom. tHank you KZbin, ....you have given me loads of new friends........and ....You keep my videos in a black hole at the end of the galaxy...but on the bright side....there is lots of elbow room out here and no lines.

This concept of creating content that people want to watch doesn't factor in oversaturation of that same content. In other words, if everyone makes the same type of content, it will become increasingly more difficult to achieve the same results.

Valid points mate! If everyone creates the same type of content, then no one would be interested in creating content anymore. I think the overall point (take this with a grain of salt as someone that just started a week ago) is to find your unique advantage and use that in the content you produce. The more skill and effort you put in, the greater your potential can be down the road. Cheers! :)

It's because people are wanting more authentic content, not a performance. It has nothing to do with "anyone can go viral". Because of AI and constantly being sold at, collective of viewers want something REAL that can't be faked with a performance.

I have a question, a youtube short has to be the max 60 seconds right, Have anybody who have exported a short that was a minute long but for some reason when it uploads to KZbin a sec is added to it so that it wont show up as a short anymore but shows up in regular videos instead of under shorts?

Good Question, Yes I have found this as well, when uploading a Short, make it 59.0 seconds maximum as for some strange reason KZbin will add 1 second to your Short and it looks like all Shorts and Videos have 1 second added to them after uploading, KZbin should make this clear as even if it’s 59.1 seconds this won’t be a Short after uploading. You’re the 1st person I’ve seen ask this question anywhere on KZbin, Thanks very much. Best Wishes, Amanda 😊

I feel like some these channels must be friends with some major guys on KZbin. I saw channel yesterday had 28 videos and this guy has over 1 million subscribers and he wasn’t doing anything special. HOW? Another guy I saw had 1 video 11k views and over 2k subscribers. My videos are not perfect but better than these guys my opinion KZbin is BS with getting subs. I’m over 400 videos and under 400 subscribers this ain’t working out
