Hi. So with a Celluar version you can be able to text someone get a phone call or just anything like that without having your phone nearby. But with a GPS version you have to have your phone by in order to make it work and to send messages make calls etc.

@@manuel_winde There are lots of YT videos and articles on the internet talking about the possibility of using Apple Watch by itself (without iPhone). The consensus seems to be it IS possible but the experience ranges from barely adequate to suboptimal (depending on what you use the Watch for).

Maybe pay for things using Apple Pay or listen to a podcast/playlist but ultimately I hate phones and find them antisocial, so the worse user experience the better as I will use it less haha

@@manuel_winde I take back what I said earlier. After more research, it is NOT possible if you don't have a phone at all. The reason is the watch is tied to the phone number (so that if someone calls that phone number the watch can take the call). The wireless company requires you have a phone plan before they will setup the watch. If the phone number is gone or change to another carrier they will drop the watch from the plan (you can still use the watch's other functions but not the cellular function). Watch and phone go together at wireless carrier. What IS possible is you can leave your phone at home or don't even use it (after the watch is setup) and use the watch exclusively. But you must have the phone and watch together on same plan at same wireless carrier. Hope that helps.
