In summer, especially, people wear less, including women. Even having bare arms is considered naked by a certain cult. Should we all wear burkers because some screwed up men can't control themselves? Of course not. I will never wear a burka, ever. Even as a woman, I do feel awkward when young lasses go around with their backsides literally hanging out of their 'shorts' and skin tight leggings which make them look naked, especially flesh coloured ones. I feel embarrassed for them. I wore shorts as a young woman, but I'd never wear what some do now. I feel cringey secondhand embarrassment for them. Having said that, it doesn't give any man the right to rape them or harm them. According to the cult, men are supposed to look down when they see other women when they are married.

I don't care if she's walking the streets wearing flipflops and a mankini, NOTHING gives anyone the right to touch other than verbal consent and that can be withdrawn at any point. Of course people are gonna look the only Reason to dress like that is for attention.

In the 80s I used to carry a snooker ball in a sock, I also had a large padlock attached to my long strap on my handbag. I never needed them though I had 5 brothers looking out for me too. Everyone knew each other in our town back then so if you were an outsider and you caused trouble...well lets just say, it would not be pretty! Edit:I would suggest everyone learn self-defence and travel around in large groups, most importantly watch out for each other. Never leave a friend alone, even in a taxi...travel home together and stay over at the friends house!!!
@annem91953 ай бұрын
Never thought of the padlock👍 I had a can of deodorant or hairspray in my bag, along with a cigarette lighter when travelling on public transport. Never had to use it but it was there if needed! I did a basic self defence course years ago - it may be time for a refresher course but I have to find one that caters for “the older demographic”😉 You gave some sound advice.

Excellent idea, I suggest you have it in your hand ready though. Just keep it out of view so the attacker doesn't know you have it. You may not have time to get it out of your bag.😉

My mum was liffid and shouting at them calling them all names under the sun... well they left in the end, but man that was scary and this was in the 1970's Turkish enrichment pffff

I live near a park. You hear teenagers screaming and shouting all the time. So you wouldn't know if someone is being attacked. Also the scream for excitement (when on a roller coaster) and a scream in fear is exactly the same. If being attacked it is best to shout fire as that would get a response. Remember once hearing a fight at the end of my road and called the police. The police didn't want to know because "the people involved would have moved on." This was 15 years ago. Friend called the police because some men were trying to break into their house (friend had three young kids). Police said not coming out because no crime has actually been committed. Thankfully the guys couldn't get in and gave up but it did leave my friend and family scared for a long time.
