As a hobby photographer I want to mention the effect camera lenses can have on the look of faces. Mobile phones have mostly wide angle lenses. Taking selfies up-close leads to so called barrel distortion making your mid face area look inflated. So take this into account for creating good portrait photos

I'm photographer myself, and I agree. Selfies distort your face big time. If you want a nice picture, you need to use at least a normal lens, or even a tele lens. Also the lighting, pose, position of the camera, timing etc play a huge role. If you don't know what you are doing, you can make even a very attractive person look hideous. Or, if you know what you are doing, make not so attractive person look pretty good.

I was thinking the same thing. But, to be fair, pictures dont paint the full picture. She may be better looking in motion. I think this is why rating someone based on pictures is terrible. For example, I've gone on dates with women who look pretty average in pictures but in person (in motion) they look significantly more attractive since you can actually see the angles of their face better and their eyes lighting up.

I'd be interested to see a breakdown for women's faces especially because it seems like women increase their rating by a couple of points just by wearing make-up which inflates the rating. Going back to the thumbnail, the girl who's an 8/9 is visibly wearing making where as the girl left of her, could probably overtake her simply by using some well-placed make-up. What I would like to know is what makes a woman naturally attractive without any artificial enhancements. I mean, it can't be the same as for man, otherwise the best looking man would also be the best looking woman.

Here on 5:22, in Russia those men who are 4/10 is sort of what an average Russian man is. I can speak from experience as well as observation of others. The age pill is the “ultimate”killer. It doesn’t matter if you are gym maxed, 15% bf, still have a full head of hair and “were” a decent looking 7-8 before, once you get past 35+ and middle age there’s literally zero chance you’ll be getting any dates from any woman other than single or divorced mothers, who are also 35+. This is my situation. I find it funny and sad though that from a distance in the gym or the grocery store or other places, I can still make a younger woman’s head turn, but once they get within range to discern true age in the face, they turn deaf, dumb, and blind. It doesn't work that way. To get ratings you need a consensus of about 20 people. Photofeeler lets you pay for 20 people to rate a photo in 3 categories (Attractive, Smart and Trustworthy). You can have men or women (or both) rate you though and the ratings are different.

Yup, 31, never had a girl interested. On second thought, there was one time a girl in my class told me her friend thought I was cute. Never met her, but knew who she was (yearbook), and she was a good 4.5. Probably my looksmatch when I think about it, lol. That was the 8th grade, almost 20 YEARS ago. Never happened since. Never had an experience where a girl showed any kind of overt interest, to where I thought, “Wait…does she find me…attractive?” Never been on a date or had a GF. Didn’t receive any female attention in high school (which I actually somewhat understand, I had horrible acne in high school), and not in college. I certainly KNEW some girls in high school and college, but they were acquaintances, and treated me as such. Not in my 20’s, when I worked at a grocery store for a few years, and our curbside department (which was right next to my department) was mostly college aged girls and some high school girls. Never felt like any of those girls showed interest in me, and I talked to a lot of them. Meanwhile, one of my coworkers literally had several instances of female CUSTOMERS asking for his number while he was working. He was a good looking guy. Yeah, I didn’t realize I was Sub-5 until I got blackpilled in the last few months. The truth didn’t necessarily hurt, because I kinda always suspected it for a while now. I never thought I was cute or attractive, but I certainly didn’t think sub-5. Oh well, at least I’m fit and have relatively low body fat and can fit into clothes I like. I agree with all this, and actually paid for a face-rating by you a few years ago. I think I was between a 5 and 6.. What I don't get is I see hot women dating 5-6.. so I feel like I have hope, but my shyness and not the best social skills really hurt me, I do notice that it doesn't seem to matter what you say, if a girl is attracted to you than she is, but I feel like I'm in the middle where I could either 1) put lots of effort or time trying to attract a women in the U.S. which could take many months or 2) Just focus on meeting them abroad, which in my experience has been much easier, but comes with its own challenges of living in other countries because of the culture and language and dealing with visa issues... The whole compliments thing as a guage isn't reliable. I am objectively an 8 based on women rating me, and the attention i get, especially stares from women. But VERY FEW are brave enough to approach me because i come off unnapproachable. And when they do approach me, they always say their initial impression was that i'm stuck up or pompus or cocky (without ever having dealt with me). Being good looking and carrying yourself as such can be detremental to the interactions you get from women. It's usually really funny, because girls will talk about me, tell me how their friend said im really hot, then say how they told that friend i'm a dickhead so stay away.. Have come to the conclusion I'm a 6 who gets to 7 based on a few extras, such as being in very good shape (but only average height), good at witty/flirty banter, playing in bands, practising martial arts, getting to a good level in salsa (social) dancing, and dressing well. Aaaalll of that... has gotten me maybe 100 first dates with 6-7's and very occasional 8's. Though the 8's are less likely to lead anywhere, if you know what I mean. Seems like a lot just to get those results, except I'd do nearly all of those things anyway - just for my own interest & satisfaction. And I think that's key.

Okay, so being deemed an 8/10 by some guy online doesn't automatically make you an "8". The only way you truly know you're an 8 is how women respond to your physical appearance. The body language is something to use as a reference. Usually they will see you as extremely attractive. Now, obviously, the NT pill is a very real thing. Usually, when a guy gets to a 7/10, it's unlikely. However, a small minority of guys can still struggle at 7/10+ if dealing with autism, severe BDD, etc. Usually they will be incel by choice, because they are very uncomfortable with themselves and obsess over flaws, while locking themselves in their room and rotting there for years. I've known guys who were objectively attractive but remained incel because they were too fixated on certain flaws and wanted to be perfect in the presence of their future partner.

In most countries there are roughly enough men and women with the same quality of appeareance to match one another so as long as children early are taught to aim for what matches them, 90% people should find a match based purely on physical appearance matching. Now, in a realtionship there is way more than physical appearance: - hygiene - quality of emotional listening - fineness in gestures and touching skills and way more. So given a person develops most other aspects of them, this should basically help them find someone to be with for whatever purpose.

One thing Wheat Waffles doesn't mention is eye colour, sometimes they can be mixture of hues or two eyes of different colours...this is an extremely attractive feature and saves ugly people. The actual attractiveness of the eyes, not the eye area, but eye colour. So light green, sea blue, silvery grey, mirror eyes (they reflect you back into their eyes) and mixed hued eyes are likely to immediately make a person more attractive. Even if they're a sub 5 in the face, even sub 3 they'll get women being nice to them simply because they mistake the 'attractive eye colour' to be 'kindness in the eyes'. A woman or man can go, 'I didn't find them attractive at first then they grew on me...I started finding them attractive!' Sure, when you have large silver eyes, with mix of grey colours, and they're extremely attractive, of course you didn't notice the eyes when you first saw the person...I'm a woman and the most attractive eyes I've seen on a man were light green they almost looked amber or grey in different lights. The most attractive eye colour I have ever seen on a human was silvery grey eyes on a woman...which really made me question my sexuality 😮

True. I think WW underestimates eye/hair color a lot. I think where you live matters in regards to height as well, in the American midwest most guys are pretty tall, to where as when I lived in California 5'6 was an average height because of all the short people of non European descent and probably an overall difference in diet.
