I had a match as a Medic in Badwater Basin. My team was just perfect in every way: they protected me, I healed them and we managed to push back the enemy team without letting them get to a single checkpoint. Believe it or not, I somehow managed to reach top score and I even had more kills than deaths under my belt, AS A MEDIC! IT WAS GLORIOUS!!! So of course the next round, when it was our turn to attack, I got autobalanced to the other team during the 60 seconds of prep time, right after making sure my charge was full and all of my teammates were overhealed. I then had not enough time to get another one ready, since the match had already started and my entire team (me included) was curbstomped so hard that I just ragequit 2 minutes in. There are no words, in any language, that would accurately describe how deeply I *despise* this game's f*cking autobalance system. Who the hell thought that a single player being switched in a team that's already being destroyed would make a single difference to "balance things out"?!

Bind “key” retry Then when it said autobalance in 5 seconds, press your retry key and someone who is not good enough at the game to know console commands will be the victim. You will still have to rebuild uber however.

@@RealFredXong There was a time my team was losing a game quite badly... enemy team had really strong sniper. A few people left my team, and I fulfilled my sacred duty as a spy and back stabbed the sniper while he had team mates all around him... he got auto-balanced to our team. I may not had anywhere close to top score that round due to constant attempts to kill that sniper, but removing him permanently from enemy team has to count for something.

In the old days... autobalance could have happened mid action. You were having fun with a friend, nearly winning the game and then: "AUTOBALANCE!" These days you gotta die or the round has to change... but nothing was more infuriating then being autobalanced 10 seconds before a win.

:P I stoped playing the game because of it. The last time I played tf2 I played as heavy on upward. I stuck to the cart like glue and I destroyed all 9 of the classes on my way up. The closest to death I came to was useimg the cart for cover as I pushed past an engineers sentry. Then the medic ran off and my team scattered leaving me alone when a bot sniper came in and headshot me. Next thing I know I'm on red team. The cart I was pushing just needs a tap to go over the edge.

Autobalance should have a minimum game time block. For example if the remaining time in the round is less than 2 minutes then it won't do anything unless the game time gets extended

It's funny. A couple years ago people were complaining about auto balance too and Valve removed it. This make it so that the losing team pretty often have absolutely no fighting chance, however. So people were begging for Valve to bring it back and they did, but now people complaining about the same thing.

I feel like the two big reasons for the complaints are that they removed manual balance from the game as well, meaning people can’t choose to change teams on their own as imbalances happen, and that auto balance has a habit of going off right before the game ends, meaning you could be the reason your team wins, but you lose because you’re not on that team anymore.
