I also felt a little similar with Baro once set 10 putting a lot of effort in but not getting a sufficient payoff. I hate playing Curtis and Pandemonium Tactics at 4 just because they soul charge while I can only put in 2 Lilac Lashers because I have like 6 spaces open for all the cards that don’t soul charge. I’d really like more that can soul charge and do something else if you have 10+ soul so we can creep out cards like Curtis and have a game plan for not getting 15 soul.

I agree with 100%. I forgot to bring up space as a seperate point but yes 100% More effiecent ways to fill up soul would be great; would love to ditch swirler and “soul charging” and move to like selective soul charging or from drop cause we need it at this point.

the fact that the other gravitomancer in his lore could have been used as a new baro form (she takes his mantle or something) or even just a dressup unit that toolboxes the soul. but noo here have this retire 10k rear :)

same here, baro has been given like several damn female support cards, most being trash to eh; especially the new one. (selfish engraver sweep) mans got the rizz for di women but not the skills, hell I'd take a new curtis that magically solves all the decks problems

Well here's some fun ideas for a Baro upgrade. 5 cards in soul you absorb one of your Rear guards and call one out from soul, 10 cards for every 3 cards in soul, opposing vanguard loses 2000 power, then 15 cards gain a crit, they have to use 3 cards to guard, and retire opposing rears for every 3 cards.

I can kinda see where you're going with it. 20K power is probably too much epsically since we have Drajeweled in our nation so the decks would be realllly similar.I dont know if they would do 3 or more to guard with a crit but then again Lororol gets a crit and restricts PGs so maybe lol

Man I really really love baromagnes since I'm a huge D.I. fan, but playing him right now (first week of set 12 in english) feels so so bad. It was my first deck in D and it's the only deck I never sold or traded away for these 3 years. I was hoping for a new form in set 12 and 13 but they went to ominagruzio and drajeweled. Really hoping he gets the protag treatment with the new DivineZ anime. #JusticeForBaro

Yea Baro's my first vanguard deck and I've been playing since set 1 but I had to put him on the shelf after gandeeva showed up. Eventually I learned the match up better and played again for a bit. but I've shelved him again cause its just too exhausting trying to make him work every set while getting the minimalist of direct or indirect support. Also hoping for something in Divinez but we'll have to wait and see 😟

Everyone's favorite Baropunching bag Make a Baro Dressup that works like No Life King that superior rides into a Baro from soul and it becomes Persona Ride or something. And has a second effect that gets the soul requirement with less piece requirement, a common thing with Dressups (and Masques to a lesser extent) is that they do something that previously came from a rearguard piece meaning the deck becomes less piece reliant and opening room for more slots in the deck.

NLK superior persona ride thst puts some cards from drop intosoul. So maybe you can use it when you dont hit 15 and can actually do something that turn. Let ogbaro still be the finisher if it has to be that that way

@@CurlyHairedVanguard According the local Hexaorb obsessive lunatic here the thing he noted the most about Aquamarine is that her having the stand effect by herself rather than needing specific rgs that stand others is one of the major upgrades she gives the deck. A Baro Dressup that similarly is more self-suficient with less reliance on finding specific pieces would aleviate the deck's highroll nature.

Another thing that always irked me about Baro is the the 1st soul reward is a draw and not Drive +1, I don't know how many times I've drawn a trigger just to check 2 blanks 🙃

Ngl Im new and wanted to make a Baro deck. Not because of how meta he is or anything, just because he's the first 3 Dark states clans rolled into one. He has Reiky's 15 crit mechanic, Dudley emperor's consistent 5 attacks, and Pale Moon's calling from soul. All these clans I played in VG0 and to see a card that exemplifies all the aspects I loved about Dark States as a nation attracted to it. But sadly nobody I know sells a deck or cards for it cus Brain Swirler expensive.

You can build the deck without swirler imo; swirler helps alot cause you can get the big power on turn 3 to make up for your vanilla turns 1 and 2. However swirler will get common reprint in october so theres that!

My despair is the fact that if they do give him a new form it’s def gonna be a VG restander as it’s new 15 effect because omg they need to get away from every deck just being a VG or RG restander and try to do more unique effects

I think that there are three big issues with Baromagnes: -Second and third skill work against each other. It was fine early, but now getting 23k has just been powercrept away, so it doesn't really put pressure to the opponent like other decks (as mentioned, GANDEEVA) -You need to burn a lot of pieces from your hand to get to 15 soul, which leaves you with no resources and then you don't play from soul, so you lose even more resources -Deckout. You can't really get too much hand to Baromagnes, because the more it draws after getting 15 soul it just gets you closer to deckout So, I think we do need both new Baromagnes and support. A new Baromagnes should tweak the second ability when the power-up is either +1k for every card in soul or +5k for every card put in soul from the field, and then support that helps you with the resources allowing to recycle cards in the deck and get a hand. We would also need more ways to play from the soul (calling both to rearguard and to guard circle), but that could be put either on the new hypotetical Baromagnes or on new support.

I agree with you 3 points; i said them in the video but just not as explictly. Im not sure what you mena by the 2nd and 3rd skills work aganist each other? And yea thats a great point; a constant 10K doesnt cut it anymore. We need to find a way to scale up each turn like all the decks do now. Maybe provide power to front row (like GANDEEVA) times number of cards in soul.

@@CurlyHairedVanguard the fact that the second skill is supposed to make Baromagnes himself a threatening attack, but the third removing the backrow makes the actual number small and the least concerning attack of the sequence. Particularly considering that the core of the offensive power in the explosive turn are G1s, so the focus is on the backrow.

@@themantyf1116 Ah thats fair, I hadnt looked at it that way. I do hate pumping up swirlers just for that power to dissappear for the rest of the game. Baro's swing is typically No guarded or PGed however so Im not sure how much a booster would tel him particularly.

@@CurlyHairedVanguard I often find opponents keeping the PG for an eventual Lilac with crit, against Baromagnes you usually only need around 30k of shield to be pretty safe.

I'm really sorry, thats not at all what i was trying to do with this video...I still deck the deck is fun and it is still my favorite deck in standard, but the format at this point in time is kinda rough for him.
