Baseball is a lot harder than some people think it is. He played in high school and in his 30's he picks the game back up and plays in AA. That's mind blowing tbh.
@Cubs-Fan.1016 күн бұрын
He only made it that far because of his name. He was a terrible baseball player, and his gambling gave it a distraction
@PhillipV-qm4mf16 күн бұрын
@@Cubs-Fan.10 it's true, .202 is a horrible batting average, and wouldn't cut it for a real prospect. Plus, Reinsdorf admitted in the last dance that MJ was only in AA because the lower levels couldn't accommodate the media presence. He even said AA was too high for him. So, you're absolutely right when you say it's because of his name why he was there. But him even hitting .202 with 50 ribs in AA after over a decade of not playing is incredible. If that was me, I hit sooo zero they'd add extra 0's just to emphasize how bad I am. I'd be batting .00000

Seriously... out of all the kids who dream of playing in the major leagues when they're growing up.. less than 1% have what it takes to even be a professional baseball player at the lowest level of the minor leagues. Jordan was never going to make the majors, but he was a HELL of a lot better than almost every single person who says "he sucked at baseball".. You get up there and face a minor league pitcher and let's see how well you do!
@psymar16 күн бұрын
White Sox scouts have said he probably would've made the bigs in another year or two, he was improving that quickly. He quit because he wasn't sure there would be a major leagues to make!
@LiveFromThePorcelainPalace16 күн бұрын
@@psymar personally.. I think if he focused on baseball instead of basketball when he was younger he likely would have been a decent big leaguer.. but not a star... but when he was in the minors for the Sox, nobody in baseball outside of the white sox organization thought he had any legitimate chance to make the majors. And White Sox scouts said that back then because if they said otherwise they might get fired for it.

If his name wasn't Jordan and the owner of the Bulls wasn't also the owner of the Sox, he wouldn't even have gotten the opportunity he did. Also, baseball, in terms of hitting, is a game of failure and learning to deal with it. For someone like him, success was incredibly unlikely at that point. Perhaps if he had started his career ten years earlier, he'd have had a better chance. In addition, as the video showed, his physical attributes weren't beneficial in baseball. The fact is he did "suck at baseballl" based on his output and at the level he was playing at. Again, if his name wasn't Michael Jordan, he would have been released during the season.
@LiveFromThePorcelainPalace15 күн бұрын
@@NatTurnerswitBurnerz he definitely had talent.. but like I said he was more focused on basketball growing up and spent over a decade away from baseball.. the fact that he was able to hit over the Mendoza line in Double A shows there was talent there.

Now Michael Jordan is in NASCAR full time as a team owner with 23XI Racing. Jordan actually loves NASCAR which dates back to him & his dad attending races in North Carolina as a kid & watching Richard Petty (who is a NASCAR legend that has 7 titles). He actually wanted to own a NASCAR team during his basketball career but there weren't any teams available to buy into at the time. When Denny Hamlin (a NASCAR driver) wanted to start his own team in 2020, he turned to Michael Jordan as a business partner & 23XI started racing the following year.

This brings me back to when Daz insisted that any top-level athlete can play any sport. Wrong, some dude playing Criquet is not qualified to play MLB, some dude playing rugby is not automatically qualified to play in the NFL. There is an exception, Jordan Malaita. He was named a Captain on the Philly Eagles this season. And last but not least, just because you can kick a soccer ball, does not mean you would qualify to kick field goals in the NFL.

Deion Sanders and Bo Jackson played in the NFL & MLB. Most NFL QBs were top high school baseball players that got drafted by MLB teams out of high school.

The White Sox have been known from time to time as the ChiSox. The Red Sox are sometimes referred to as the BoSox. Bristol, Ct., where ESPN is headquartered, had a Double-A minor league team called the Bristol Red Sox, more commonly known as the BriSox. When the team moved up the road to New Britain in 1983, they became the BritSox. The Pawtucket Red Sox, who, for a long time, were the AAA affiliate of the Red Sox, were known as the PawSox.

If you are looking for anymore NHL videos to react to here are a few suggestions: NHL worst injuries, NHL knockouts, NHL longest suspensions, There is one video about the unwritten rules of hockey, Protecting the goalie is very god too, one thing you might not have heard of and would be pretty interesting to react to are reverse hits or hip checks, NHL the beauty of fighting (it explains how the people who fight respect each other and don’t go too far), Alex Ovechkin goals, and there is also a series made by the official NHL KZbin channel called Weird NHL which is the funniest/oddest/best moments in the NHL. Love the channel too!

White Sox came first. The Boston Red Stockings in 1901, White Stockings also in 1901. However in 1904, the Chicago team adopted the "sox" name because Chicago newspaper writers needed a shorter spelling for headlines. So they started calling them the White "Sox" instead of "stockings" and it stuck with the fans. The Boston Red Stockings copied it in 1908. Edit: included the name of Boston, mass to be less confusing

You only associate "Sox" with just Boston, because you know the owner, John W Henry, is the owner of Liverpool. So you see/hear Boston Red Sox more often. In Chicago and surrounding area, if you say Sox, everyone knows it's White Sox, in Boston and surrounding area, they all know it's Red Sox. To everyone else in other states, we say the full White Sox or Red Sox. The only time you might get away with just Sox, is if the conversation was about a specific division or league. White Sox are in National League (NL), Central Division. Red Sox are in American League (AL), Eastern Division.
@hifijohn16 күн бұрын
The Red Sox have B on their caps for Boston the white sox cant have a C because the cubs have a C.before '58 the Red Sox didn't had a B because the dodgers had a B for Brooklyn. triva: sox is newspaper slang for stockings.

His fans all get butthurt when you say that he sucked at baseball. He sucked. The real reason he went to play baseball is because the NBA commissioner told him to get out of basketball for a while due to his gambling. He was gonna drop the hammer on him if he didn't take a break. He didn't leave because he was tired of the game, that was just an excuse
