Even adult actors struggle without proper direction and decent material to work with. The kid who plays the younger Mae wasn't bad in the movie Violent Night where she had a fairly big role, and she's done a bunch of other stuff. The other kid has only been in one rando movie that nobody has seen. Of course you could still be right, but that wouldn't explain why most of the other actors seem bored, confused or maybe even a little embarrassed to be there.

Many many years ago, when I was in middle school, our class went to the nearby high school to see a short comedy detective stage play the high schoolers were doing. The writing, direction, line delivery, acting, costumes, pacing and plot were all better than what I've seen of The Acolyte.

I have... and alway have, with 'witches' in Star Wars... yes people will say "but Jedi are just space wizards" ...maybe, but they're not referred to as wizards in universe. The term/name witches just takes me out of the story.

Extremely bad. As soon as I saw it was a flashback episode I groaned and switched it off to watch some other time. I knew I was already too tired to suffer through something I wasn't much interested in. We already know the story...there was a fire...one of the girls is thought to have set it.... the why doesn't need a full entire episode to explain. Now I'm struggling to get through the whole episode, I've had several breaks already and about to try to finish it once more. It feels like a chore to watch this episode and I still have about 1/3rd left to go.

The way the witches died seemed off. It didn’t seem like the witches died from the fire Mae started, I find it hard to believe that the fire spread fast enough between the time Osha found the hidden passage way and when saw Mae. And why would Torbin feel guilty. I think they’re trying to use Mae’s fire as a misdirection, and it was actually the Jedi that wiped them out.

i really liked the Zabrak race in The Clone wars TV show, and was nailed perfectly in the Fallen order video game franchise, and their Dathomir witches how they were portrayed as dark force wielders whom served the dark side of the force. But what you are describing is so for left field to what they are supposed to be that it is beyond even Redit fan fiction levels. They lost me at Ahsoka TV show's depiction and the bullshit their, but this show has reached a whole new unconceivable level of bullshitery i didn't think was possible. The neat nuance was gone, as it sounds like straight up BLATENT insertion of Californian politics into what was once a unique fictional alien culture and race. The Zabrak are NOT nice, they are a very traditional brutalist Caste system society where the high matriarchs subjugate all under their whims; I see why modern Hollywood likes them. but they can't be TOO brutal, they somehow have to be portrayed as the good guys and Disneyfied...somehow. Ugh, Hollywood please let bad guys be bad guys for the love of GOD. Heroes need well written interesting villains to fight and succeed over. Otherwise what is the point of a show with zero stakes? OUGH the Dathomir Witches DESPISE the jedi and other force wielders, there is ZERO choice or F's given.

Yes. Dathomir is the home planet of the Zabrek- the species of alien Darth Maul and Asaaj Ventress are. One of Osha/Mei' mom's is made to have features of a Zabrak male, I have no idea if that's on purpose or a mistake
