Not Just Climate Change! You should make a video on this Pandemic Corona Situation. Bangladesh's Health Care Sector lags far, far behind that of other "Well Developed" countries; in every aspect like manpower, facility, infrastructures. [Let Me add a note: being most densly populated country, habitated nearly 1500 people per mile, the whole country has not more than 3000 ICUs!! and 90% of those ICUs are not affordable to most of us] Still, We've managed to handle this pandemic very, very efficiently, It's very hard to maintain social distance in this dense population, As most of our people are mid or lower mid class earning their livelihood on daily basis with no savings whatsoever! Proper lockdown was brutal and uneffective, Still, death toll is is like a dream for those developed countries. Imagine how we managed to do that! off Course, Efforts of fronr liners are brilliant, but this alone wasn't enough. Those departed are mostly because we were unable to provide necessary intensive care because we lacked those infrastructures. but After reading about Corona situations in other countries, I've now strong belief on *Nature's Payback* look at those numbers, even with the higher quality of Medical sector, they couldn't hold down the death toll. well if anyone's wondering why the economy is an issue here let me bring it down to you Bangladesh is a poor county which doesn't even have solid infrastructure in the architecture of its buildings.. when we talk about the countryside we mean it's really poor and undeveloped the capital dhaka is a metropolis this is the epicenter of the whole country Chittagong is the port city and all other district cities are fairly okay so the high rises of Dhaka saves itself as it is in the middle and also from the coastal and border sides Sundarbans is the saviour as always as most of the natural disasters hits us from the south but we get flooded no matter what we stay flooded in the dhaka city the 1/6 of the whole year.. so we are pretty used to it we have adapted and overcame the situation and being a poor country we had to we had to find a way to survive where you have the need you have the urge to do the deed

People take cyclone warnings seriously in BD because the government deploys police on the streets in the costal areas. Sometimes the police employs baton charges on people unwilling to evacuate. Being hit with a stick is a good motivation to start running. Also, there are countless levies protecting population centers. Despite all efforts, millions of people build homes, schools, mosques on the edge of local waterways or in new river islands and end up losing everything when the rivers swell up. There is literally no other place for them to go.

DW @ 3:42 its not any bengali news channel rather its an odia channel , odia is an indian language belonging to odisha state of india. But odisha is also a tropical cylone prone state state of india. In 2000 supercyclone struck odisha killing more than 10,000 people. I am just trying to say that the footage of that news channel is not correct in context of bangladesh/bengal/west bengal.
@DWPlanetA3 жыл бұрын
Edit: Hi! You are right, this is from an Indian channel. We included this footage because Indian states in the Bay of Bengal have shared Bangladesh's success in collecting weather data and predicting cyclones like Amphan. (Though, as you point out, these states haven't had the same level of success at evacuating people out of harm's way - even if death tolls have also fallen in India.) The text that clarified this got edited out - we apologize for the ambiguity. Hope this clears things up and thanks for the comment!

Bangladesh gets double & some times triple flood. One are natural others are man made, like the flood happening now in north of Bangladesh. These have been taking place for past 50 years due to having a arrogant neighboring country whole's blocked all the rivers coming downstream to Bangladesh & feels free to wage water war (this is India's description of China building dam on top of India, hence its only fair to use it for them too) on Bangladesh annually, destroying life's uplifting people, destroying crops, destroying business (specially fishery as fish would escape), also then go & destroy Bangladesh further by stopping the water for so long that some parts of Bangladesh is turning to deserts. No western nation is looking at the constructive & intentional scheme India does to make Bangladesh suffer. People of the world need some reality lessons just as the lesson people are learning about pandemic situation, this planet is one hence we as human unless start working to save it we may survive doing what we do but our future generation will suffer greatly & the situation may get to a stage of no return. We would than kick our self for being so stupid.
