I’ve been struggling with all these things😔… started isolating myself because I was tired of being the bigger person, always apologizing or being made to feel guilty when I am unable to say yes to everything like I used to… but when it’s the other way round I must always be respectfuL and understanding… I probably seem like the bad person for going ghost but when I tried to have conversations my feelings were invalidated and I’d apologize for the sake of peace but that can’t be my life🚮

1.I began matching people’s energy. The minute I began to feel unwanted by certain people, I excused myself from their lives and never looked back. (This goes for new relationships or old bonds, whether platonic or romantic). 2. Unfollowing accounts that no longer served my interests. 3. Being vocal about my wants and needs in any relationship (familial, romantic, platonic) so as to sift out anyone who isn’t prepared to put in the same effort as I am putting in as we try to form a bond. 4. Ensuring that the activities I choose to engage in & the people I have around me , as regards their qualities and values, are actually good for me. I’m no longer pretending to like activities I dont like or having people around me whose values and interests don’t exactly align with mine (esp if their values and interests are destructive and retrogressive). 5. Forgiving people and forgetting about them, heavy on the forgetting.

I think we need to remember that not everyone is compatible and some people may be in a position where they don’t want to hurt the other persons feelings. Imagine an ex friend had the audacity to say to me I’m in the city but never bothered to link up with me but was so thrilled to tell me like miss me with that energy! When I confronted her saying it would’ve been nice to see you and we hang out she ignored it and I was like fuck this I’m wasting my time trying to save this friendship and be the bigger person so back to my dgaf self 😂 The selfish things I’ve done to put myself first is give them the gift of goodbye! Showing them idgaf! Muting them on socials and even blocking them from my stories because they’re monitoring spirits. Or if they’ve emailed me I take 3 months to reply 😂 showing them I’m not thinking about you and I’m booked and busy!
