I was a team mate and friend with Bernard at Fort Hamilton HS in Brooklyn. We knew then how special he was as a baller. I'm proud I got to know him as a friend. Many decades have gone by but the love for him will never die. FT. Ham. always, go Tigers!

Now, as to the best Bernard King story, it might have been his clutch performance against the Detroit Pistons back in 1984, I believe it was, where he was dealing with a flu, two dislocated fingers, a hot arena with no AC, and, oh yeah, Isaiah Thomas scoring 16 points in a 90 second span to force overtime. What a scorer!

ratings were at a all time low in the mid to late 70s. How ironic that as soon as wilt chamberlain retired the ratings dropped. Hmmm Well, the Celtics never sold out a single game throughout there 11 championships which is bizarre. Wilt was the Dr. J nd Michael Jordan in the 60's. He's the reason the NBA made enough money so they could add so many more teams. And then when he retired ratings dropped and they still had the extra teams. Good thing Bird, Magic, and Dr. J came to the NBA in the late 70's or the NBA would have been in some serious trouble.
