People that jump on with comments like yours which in fairness is compassionate and not half as uneducated as some of the other people that comment on social media with really uneducated biases opinions that does more harm to football but mostly the “HUMAN BEINGS “ pushing themselves at the highest level, in comparison to any top athletic worldwide professional sport . Sam was totally set up. But he was still incredibly naive. The England football coach is probably the highest profile job in the country outside of the prime minister. Going out and getting pissed in a restaurant and talking ‘big boy bollox’ in front of people you don’t know is pretty stupid. They’ll definitely be a camera somewhere!!

I always thought that whole thing stunk to high heavens. I played soccer at a relatively high level at a D1 college in the US & without a doubt he is a top manager/coach. You can see it with how his teams play & it’s really obvious when he parachutes into a club mid season that’s fighting relegation. I’ll never understand why he gets as much stick as he does in the UK for his managerial skills. Is he Pep Guardiola or Jurgen Klopp? No, but who is and how many active managers are there at their level?? I think if he left England and went to the US, Australia, or wherever he’d be really successful. Hell he could just go up to Scotland if he didn’t want to leave the UK.
