Big bang is also the only Kpop group whose fandom is mostly men, not woman. Fanboys make up 55% while females are 45% If there’s competition for getting tickets we are literally fighting against our brothers who if they get tickets they are bringing their homies not us. Their songs combined the grandparents generation, your mother and father, your sibling and then your own children. Right now kids in middle school, high school and college are obsessed. People in offices, restaurants, bars and convenience stores are re-watching mama. Even Gdragon and Taeyang’s Good Boy song hit 95 most watched MV this year, it’s literally 10 years old. 🤯

Imo, most groups' title tracks are very upbeat songs about money and fame but Bigbang can make sad songs and it would be still a huge hit. Lie, Haru haru, Flower Road and Loser are proofs of that. I remember that there's even another artist who got in trouble for mouthing/singing the lyrics of Loser during an award show because netz thought he was bragging and looking down on the other artists. But imo, he probably just really liked the song and sings it no matter what occasion he is in because I'm like that as well. 😂 that's just the effect of Bigbang songs.

In SK, there was also a baseball game and at the end of the game when people are already leaving, Bang bang bang started playing and people started chanting "encore, encore..." thinking that Bigbang will show up. So, it stopped the people from leaving the place even though BB won't really show up. 😅

In my opinion BIGBANG had so much influence on the development of the kpop genre. They’re unmatched. I can hardly imagine another group forming the industry so much. I would agree that EXO also had a huge impact. Thinking back the hype was amazing. Never experienced that again, especially with all new contributions to the industry.

GD has been in the industry for 30 years, 18 years actively and hiatus for 7 years and somehow still relevant as ever after 4 generations of kpop. He has been through everything an "idol" can experience, from good to bad to fucked up shits imaginable. From signed petition to kill himself at the age of 19yo, to kick ot him from BB, to plagiarism, fake news, privacy violation from his dates to his fucking underwear in military, chronic ankle injury, acute depression, losing his band brothers (Seungri's scandal was happening during GD's time in military), a lot of stalkers, agency mismanagement and more. GD is a small guy but he is strong, he has a lot fans and haters, anyone would crumble in his shoes, he has alot of money and he brag about it but deep down it doesn't really matter to him, he can earn 1+ Million dollar just by shitting in the toilet, however he still take every gift that his fans gave to him. He read fan letters during his flight, keep every fan letter and gift at home, wear some of them regularly. He know those sincere things can be bought with money. He tattoed VIP on his body, he always tried yo give the best he could even almost made him pass out because he knows that his fans are waiting and try to meet him, the tickets are expensive and hard to get, he knows it. People called him "king of kpop" not because he has the most streams or fans or got the most western validation but because he deserved it, he revolutionized Kpop and its culture. Some GD's quotes/lyric that I thought a lot for years and recently (I paraphrased it): 1. "Even though you can't understand the language (kpop), as long as you can feel the music, it's fine for me" 2. “Music is a universal language that has the power to bring people together.” 3. “We’ve been proud of the fact that we were known for our music first and it has been what makes us work harder.” 4. The dance award was given to GD for Crooked not because of him dancing in the MV but because the dance moves he did during performances went viral . Basicly everyone was shaking their legs like GD . He got the award not for his dancing but because he made everybody dance . The Visionary Award in 2024 is deserved . On not in good terms with YGE, GD literally thanked YHS and YGE in his speech. Produced some songs under YGE and recorded HSH with YG's in-house producers. Their songs were catchy, so everyone got hyped up. But they didn't perform live rather lip syncing. SVT and TXT did better than them. They came back after long time, it's the reason for people's scream. When they were active, Exo got most awards (I saw them in recorded videos). I heard their name in suchwita. Also shinee did good performance. BTS took advice from them and influenced by their style. BTS and hybe artists somehow helped Bigbang gain global recognition this year😂 People watched mama for them and coincidentally saw their performance and their talents.
