Believe it or not, there are several behaviors and characteristics that make people appealing to your bird. Anyone who meets these certain requirements is likelier to receive your bird's affection.

i got my bird when it was 2 months old, and i have a great bond with him, he will follow me around and i come home from school at 4:30pm and he hears the door open and he knows its me and will call me with a flock calling sound, i love him SOOO MUCH and i wouldnt trade him for the world, love you chico!

my dad is not an animal lover and not even a particularly nice person (at least to me LOL) but our budgie absolutely LOVES him and he loves the budgies back, which is so out of character for him. It's very funny and cute cause you would never expect it. Our budgie is a little love bug though so he loves all of us and he shows it with kisses and cuddles constantly

We have four Cockatiels and out of them, three all come to me whenever I come into the room. But, only one of them will fly over to me. We originally had two since Christmas but recently got two more. Anyways, I think he comes to me now after my family was out of town around when we first got the two and I was grabbing a late dinner, I heard him cry out then flap as he fell to the bottom of his cage. I instantly went over and opened it, pulling him out and he just pressed up against me like a child would from a bad nightmare. He sat there for a good half hour before wanting to go back to bed and ever since, he's been the one who follows me around and is almost always by my side whenever I step into the birds area.

I thought that I built friendship with my budgies, but I felt lost when I had to grab them to avoid them escaping from a house. I nowadays do many favors to earn their love back, but they are two steps behind usual spots. Can you guys share your experience how long it took from your past experience if you had?

I also had the same issue with my budgie. Had to grab her to feed her medicine due to respiratory problems. Some of the trust we had faded away and she would get nervous any time my hand was coming near her. So I decided to go from the beginning process of just having my hand in the cage, hand feeding her treats, giving her new toys, and talking to her softly. Took me a few weeks to gain our bond back. So the only advice I have is to just start things over with your bird and take it slow. Hope this helps lol.

Well chickadees eat from my hand some times if they choose to plus I’m always gentle with them. So does that count to anything. And I never scar them away and they don’t make alarm calls.

My cockatiel is roughly 2 and a half years old (I say roughly since we got him and they said he was 6 months old but he wasn't so we don't know his exact age. We think he was roughly a year old when we got him) and to get him to fly out I open his cage doors and use a wooden dowel (like the ones used for perches in cages since we had enough for his cage) to kind of guide him to a smaller perch in front of his door. Is there anything I should do differently when trying to get him out so I don't potentially stress him out?

Heya following ur vids since today and (mby) one of ur comments can help me also, my bird lost his trust in my and i dont know why maby i did something wrong but i dont know what everytime he flyis to the ground and cant get back up (he has a problem with flying up, bcs hes ill) i go on eye lvl or on my knees and hold always my hand to him but one day he didnt come to me anymore he still comes sometimes to me in my Working room and watches me doing stuff here but nothing more, mby someone can explayin to me what i can do that he can trust me again!
