How Bitcoin Promotes Human Trafficking and Global Warming

I hear a lot of people talk positively about Bitcoin, like it's the "wave of the future", and advocate its use. I've even seen businesses accepting it as payment. But there is a dangerous side to Bitcoin -- it can add greater anonymity and less traceability relative to conventional currency. *
And the CPU-intensive "mining" system used to create new bitcoin drives global warming...as well as driving hackers and other malicious parties to exploit other people's processors to enrich themselves.
I am a huge advocate of alternative or complementary currencies, but I think Bitcoin is not a good example of one. I recommend avoiding buying it and avoiding advocating its use, and boycotting businesses that accept it as payment.
* I may have oversimplified this in talking about this in the video. There is some degree to which Bitcoin is traceable with effort, due to recording of transactions and these being associated to IP addresses, i.e. see this article:
