Why not? Blood cakes are also pretty common in Asia. It's about the same, just the hardening of the fresh blood is different. Perhaps DW Food might wanna showcase this food one day?

I am from Lancashire. I think black pudding is absolutely delicious. A Full English breakfast without black pudding or fried bread is just not a Full English. Try it, you might like it.

In the southwest, Navajos call it blood sausage: sheep blood, diced sheep fats, potatoes, chile peppers, fats, cornmeal, salt. We pour it into a clean sheep intestines and boil. When it’s done, we slice them like a steak put in grilled tortilla and topped with some slice grilled New Mexico Hatch’s green Chile peppers…and eat like a taco!

Had it in Ireland years ago. Live in the US. I have an inport store that i get it from every so often because after trying it in ireland it is amazing. Love the stuff

Historically it's because most people had to make thing's count throughout the winter, so my ancestors would use practically all of the animal(s) they'd raise throughout the year to keep them fed whilst crops didn't grow. Also it's lovely, seriously it is so is white pudding same thing but replace blood with oats, both are delicious 😊

I’ve had Blutwurst in Munich and Boudin Noir in France as well as Black Pudding and I love them all. Is it our use of pudding that is the issue?

There’s a local Scottish shop in my city that sells black pudding, for context I’m American. I think it’s actually pretty good if you like sausage.

We grew up eating this in Newfoundland Canada when we would kill a cow in the fall we would harvest the blood pork, fat onion, salt, pepper. If you wanted a sweet blood pudding out a little sugar, we would cook it with the intestines or sometimes just bake it in a bread pan.

No, homosexuality is not allowed in the bible, because multiple books and multiple verses prohibit it, say that marriage is between one man and one woman, that sex is for procreation and that sexual immorality is a sin. Laws instituted to distinguish the Israelites are no longer needed since the church is Israel, laws concerning sin and morality are unchanging because sin is in opposition to God, who is perfect, therefore the opposition cannot change either.

Delicious. Two fried slices of black pudding on top of fried bread, plenty of brown sauce, fried egg on top. Mug of best quality tea. Yum. Also a light and satisfyingly nutritious breakfast

I stopped through the hotel at the Royal Troon, had some as an appetizer. Being an American, I don’t think I’ve ever had anything like it. Even if I never manage to get it again, I’ll probably remember the taste forever.

It's not 'pudding' as in a sweet dish you might eat as dessert. It's co-opted from the French 'boudin'. Due to the Norman invasion in 1066 there are an exceptional number of French loan words in the English language.

the traditional meaning of pudding is something that is encased in some sort. So for example a sausage encased in an intestine, or a suet pudding, which is traditionally steamed within a cloth

Most black pud is delicious, especially under a fresh poached soft egg. The best varieties come from Stornoway, second best from Bury.

If ever I get the chance , I’ll try black sausage. Here in the USA 🇺🇸, I love love blood sausage..I’ll warm it on skillet then eat it as a sandwich. Or eat it cold . Either way, it’s delicious 🤤

Best black pudding by far comes from the Outer Hebrides. Stornoway black pudding is THE best without doubt and I have tried quite a few.

As a kid, I thought that one brown stuff on an English breakfast was a chocolate cookie meant as a dessert. It was until 2012 when I realized that it's a blood sausage / black pudding

In Mexico we also eat that but in a different presentation, it is cooked in a pot with chili, tomato, onion and spices, and we call it "guiso de sangrita" well in different part of Mexico the name change but in fact is the same dish

In Ukraine we also make those blood sausages, but with buckwheat instead of barley, it’s delicious when it’s freshly baked , would be a nice option for dinner but we never have it for breakfast, it’s a bit too much

In Ireland Black Pudding was really nice . Like a bacon type treat for me. And then there was a whiter version ? Some type of sausage I guess Anyway everything tastes good when you’re on vacation but that was my tradition every breakfast to go FULL

DW is a German international broadcaster. It's a bit strange that as a broadcaster of THE sausage nation in the world, who has - for my feeling - at least 250 types of blood sausage, such delicacies like "Tote Oma" (Dead Grandma) or Zungenblutwurst (tongue black pudding) included, DW does a show about British black pudding. Half the world eats black pudding. For my taste, the Koreans have the best, followed by us.

Usually with a knife and fork. 🍴 Its very high in protein and so great for people who work physical, active jobs to give them the energy to keep going until lunchtime. So Builders, warehouse staff, active security, law enforcement, etc...

Team yucky - I've eaten it whenever I've found it on my plate but God knows why as I wasn't impressed the first time I tried it and that impression has never altered. To be fair, it DOES have a unique, distinctive taste, nothing like sausage (which I like) and really like no other meat product, but it just isn't to my taste. I've only ever found it on my breakfast plate in public or institutional settings and - thinking about it now - I've probably eaten it more to get it OFF my plate (as opposed to putting it in the ashtray or something, which would be rude).
