The UK also has strict health and safety laws Like I think (could be wirng please correct me if I am) In the UK sausages sold in supermarkets have to be at a minimum 25% purity (as in 25 has to be eintirely pork beef etc) and the rest of it has to be safe for consumption In America it's 10% and US additional food only have to not kill the consumer within eating a certain amount of it This is just an example of the difference in food health and safety laws Tbh I'm surpised u guys don't have free health care u rly need it
@cassandrahepp64455 жыл бұрын
The US is not the healthiest place that is for sure. And a burger cost a dollar or two but a salad cost 8-10 dollars. It's crazy that it's so difficult to buy healthy food here. The standards are lax and the result is a poverty class suffering from poor nutrition and tons of health problems because of it.

That isn't what she means but I sympathize. Search up an IHOP stuffed French toast commercial. When she says dessert for breakfast, she's addressing our typical over-the-top indulgence in food. Yes, she is talking about variety but a variety that even we, who love it, think is outlandish. She's an outlandish over-the-top person herself. It isn't a knock on the variety of the English breakfast. Our original traditional (sometimes called Farmer's) breakfast is based on the traditional English breakfast. I'm a fan of tomatoes and mushrooms and sausage and eggs and fried bread and everything seen in the video except beans, which I hate, and black pudding, which I have no yet had, but I never got to have a traditional English breakfast while I was in England. The foods I honestly loved best were from chip shops. And you cannot get that here, not really. So we could have a million different types of battered and fried fish + chips/fries and we'd never be able to compete. I do think English bread is too sweet for my liking but nothing in the world I've ever had rivals English dairy. Just nothing is as good. And, btw, I'd sell organs to get just a single serving of batter from a chip shop.

Served on a dinner plate, but not with the baked beans covering all the toast, the toast on the outside edges aren't covered so there are still some crispy pieces. Then eaten with a knife and fork, scooping each piece from underneath and adding more on top as you need. A little bit OCD I know, but try it and you'll love it!

Just as a tip to Americans (whom I have taught a few how to eat), we Brits are known for layering/complimenting our foods. I noticed many of my American friends will eat things separately on their plates that actually go well together. So, with this kind of breakfast, cut up (yes, use your damn knife) a piece of toast, put a piece of bacon on it, then tomato, then egg and maybe some beans if you can and stab it all with a fork and pop it in. You will get a variety of flavors and textures. Also, try putting brown sauce like HP or Daddies on everything for added flavor.

I dunno. I feel like a lot of American breakfast staples were kind of borrowed from Europe (like sausage, ham, hash browns, oatmeal, toast, bagels, muffins, and such). The sweet stuff like pancakes, maple syrup, and cereal were probably us or Canada, as well as other more regional American breakfast foods like grits, biscuits and gravy, scrapple, chicken and waffles, and American bacon (aka the best bacon).
@SPExJR9 жыл бұрын
MaiCohWolf US bacon is like paper,too much fat on it - UK bacon is the perfect one, more meat and not too thin
@MaiCohWolf9 жыл бұрын
SPExJR I've had UK style bacon and it's good too, but I still like our bacon better. The bacon here is only crappy if you buy the cheap stuff from the store. I always buy thick sliced bacon and I often get it from a butcher shop up the street. I don't get it often since I don't have a lot of money, but it's a nice treat every few months or so. I like US bacon better because it's salty and has a nice crunch. Sure, you start off with a bunch and end up with a bookmark, but that just makes it more rare and valuable… like treasure.

UNITDW Well, cutting bacon from the belly rather than the back may have been a European thing (i would think lots of cultures do that though because lots of cultures eat bacon). American bacon is usually flavored with lots of seasonings - I always read that our version was developed in the Ozarks or something. The Iroquois are just as American/Canadian as any of the rest of us… Many thanks to the Scots though for sharing their pancakes! ;) Its kind of funny how so many cultures can come together to invent new foods!

DON'T EAT EACH PART SEPARATELY!!! It works best when you get a thin bit of everything all at once.

But that's how Americans eat their food.
@Luckbeats8 жыл бұрын
Exactly you need to put the beans on the toast then a mix of bacon and sausage on the bed of beans and then the egg and hash brown on top and each it all
@CuteCara148 жыл бұрын
Yeah they eating wrong, that's why they don't like it. you have to eat it together to get the proper flavour

@janetgraham-russell44764 жыл бұрын
Oh, yeah. Pudding covers a myriad of things in the UK. There are savoury puddings which are like savoury pies made with suet pastry. Basically, in the UK, we use the word pudding instead of dessert too.

In the UK they are sold by a number of big companies like Heinze, HP, Cross and Blackwell, Branston and few smaller makes but are generally small haricot beans cooked in a variety of sauces ready to be heated for serving on a typical full English Breakfast, beans on Toast or with a Jacket potatoe, but we get them in Tomato sauce, Curry Sause or BBQ Sause and are a top food in the UK.

A full cooked UK breakfast, like this shown, is a rare treat. We wouldn't live long if we ate this greasy calorific meal every day! Normal breakfast is a mix, depending on personal taste of cereals, toast, eggs, museli, yoghurt, with tea coffee and/or juice. The cooked breakfast tends to be a weekend thing (when you have time to make it), or bought when out at a cafe or restaurant.
