Fun fact (and a correction), I was working at IBM back in the 1990's when Bluetooth was just a pilot project and we were testing it. And the companies involved in creating the Bluetooth standard were actually Intel, Ericsson and Nokia, yes, but also IBM and Toshiba. Not a fact you would find in standard writings about it sometimes, because most mention only Ericsson, Intel and Nokia. But if you look, you will find it was 5 companies, not 3. Three companies invented the tech. but 5 of them launched it and the Bluetooth standard and the Bluetooth SIG (special interest group) in 1998 and IBM and Ericsson were the founding signatories. IBM and Ericsson also helped improve the footprint of 5G recently too.

I use a Bluetooth headset which simultaneously connects two devices. I connect my Android mobile phone and my Windows laptop simultaneously. While I attend virtual meetings on my laptop, my headset alerts me and switches automatically to my mobile phone whenever a call comes (also if I make a call myself) and automatically switches back to my laptop when the call ends. Amazing technology.

I use a Bluetooth enabled speaker along with a cordless mike for my karaoke singing practice, the songs coming from KZbin on my mobile phone. I find this device a boon since i can practice singing to professional standards. I am also able to give performances to limited audiences. Hitherto I had to depend on instrumentalists for musical accompaniment but now I can perform wherever required.

It's called latency, it'll be there in almost all wireless devices. You need to check the latency before purchase. It should be minimum. Recently snapdragon has released a new Bluetooth chip with Aptx technology which they claimed that has very less latency.

While Radio Shack was still in business I bought one of their Bluetooth cassette adapters so I can throw the Cassette in my player and listen to music from my phone via Bluetooth.

Started using BT bit more lately. Occasionally just cannot connect to a previously paired device,, reboot of computer usually solves that. You mention multiple connections, I'm guessing a speaker type device can only connect to one other.
