At 3:16 you have included the poster of "When Harry met Sally". It's not a typical Romantic movie. It does not start with love at first sight or stalking or something else you mentioned. It's the opposite. It starts with the pair not going well with each other, clash of opinions. Then they dont even spend time with each other, they don't even become friends in the first place. They become friends gradually and after 5 or 10 years after they first met. They don't fall in love all of a sudden. It's a good movie among the other posters you've included. This is for the people who haven't seen the movie and think that it's a crappy movie. It's not. I'm not blaming the creator for this mistake. He might not have noticed it. Great content by the way. All the best to the channel.

This is pretty spot on, man, especially the ways in which the idea of 'true' love sometimes translates into something disturbing. Just one thing I'll point out is that while the importance of verbal communication needs to be emphasised, human beings have a tendency to communicate more through body language than through words, and while Bollywood has exaggerated it, intuitiveness and other forms of non-verbal communication, especially in couples which have been together for a some time, is perfectly acceptable and natural.

For me, love is the highest level of intimacy that adds value to our lives and gives us comfort. Someone who accepts and likes us the way we are. People who love each other help us become the best version of ourselves. And this is very rare to find but not impossible. For this we should be open to meeting someone and be present by removing all the stereotypes. And if you don't get it, then work on yourself. Do anything that makes you happy. You will definitely get it sometime.

Hi, there is a film called rashomon that I indent to talk about, a film that I think was way ahead of its time in terms of cinematic techniques, its cinematography and editing was so beautifully done that when you watch it, it feels like the film is flowing like a fluid, also I think the film raises a lot of philosophical questions and makes you think, akira kurosawa was one of the very few film makers of his time that were trying to attempt depth in their films. This is utterly irrelevant from the video, but I am curious about knowing your views on the film please.

I can tell you that I have myself done this past. And guess movies do have major impact in our lives. These things are not possible in real life. Communication is a major part of any relationship. The other person in not Parmatma that he/she will know everything going on in our minds. And these can sometimes be a reason of breaking down a relationship. Thank Goodness, I realized this.

I have watched other videos made by you and this was the best! I felt that in most of your videos you analyze films based on technical aspects of filmmaking and citing examples to explain those technical concepts and elaborate their application. In This video, however, you engage with questions of representation .i.e representation of love, of gender and how that shapes viewers' mindsets. Thanks for that! I would also like to add that Bollywood cinema propagates a narrow idea of who can be in a relationship or in love, usually young males and females. Same sex love, or love between older people is disastrously represented or is completely absent.

The reason is simple. These filmmakers in Bollywood live mostly lavish lives and have zero clue about the lives of the common man. They have ample time for love, relationships, breakups and such nonsense since they don't have to worry about jobs, financial security and education that an everyday man faces. So for them love is the only topic in life these other issues can be lived without.

As much as I agree with the most parts of your explanation, I feel you have shown only one side of the coin. Films, definitely affect and influence society but the process happens the other way round too. Films are a reflection of the society, as firstly, they are made by people emerging from the society itself and secondly those very films are the ones which people choose to go and watch. Having said that, I'm happy about the fact that there is an evident change in the society with the second decade of this century. Thanx to Internet and the power to choose the content you would want to watch at any time you want.

I really love when I randomly stumble upon a great channel to subscribe to. I am huge fan of channels like treesicle, wisecrack n lessons from screenplay.. And I really want to support good Indian Ytube channels coz their are soo few of them.. Keep up the good work bruh..

Romanticism movement was inclined towards the artistic expression of one's own inner feelings, thoughts, motivations, etc. I'd say it was much less to do with sex than you're indicating it be

Wow you brought up some amazing points. This notion of finding the most flawless person and falling in love with them is ridiculous! Reality is far from perfect.

I'm not Indian, but since I started watching Bollywood films I really loved them and I deeply respect and appreciate the amount of work and effort that goes into a production of a Bollywood film. They're master pieces. There's truly nothing like Bollywood films. That being said, you're absolutely right and spot on with your analysis. One other thing that really strikes me with all Bollywood films that some audience might run the danger of believing would occur in their realities, is just the profound amount of coincidences and conveniences that end up working out in the protagonist's favour. All the protagonist has to do, is just be brave and take risks on an adventure and everything will somehow always work out in the end, exactly how he/she wants it. In some films it gets to a point where you think: "Come on, I know this is a movie, but even for a movie's standard this is gone too far". No matter where the two potential lovers go and what they do, fate somehow brings them back (it's just meant to be). I'm sure some people believed in this at some point and soon were very disappointed to find out that's just not reality.

Dude I simply love your videos, when I clicked I thought it would be some kind of a rant about how Bollywood ruined love, but was satisfied to find out it wasn't the case, you gracefully pointed out flaws and what we can do about it. So glad I watched this, will share this with others too.

Wow, awesome video. One request though, I am French and watching your videos because I am interested in Indian culture, especially cinematic. I would be so grateful if you could add some English subtitles to the parts in Hindi. Thanks!

@@CinemaBeyondEntertainment I HOPE YOU'LL READ IT. Hi Vinit. Huge Admirer. Just got this great news of 2.0. So, just had a humble request this time pls review 2 movies 1. Ek main air ekk tu 2. Lagaan And if you get time review some satyajit ray movies also. I really think only you are capable of dissecting ray cinema totally & answer that: Did he make cinematic poetry or just poverty p*rn disguised as artistic cinema that can be exported to the west in an attempt to win international awards. Please do answer this question. A whole new generation wants to know the REAL meaning of RAY cinema from a person who actually understands cinema. Please be very brutally honest.

Great video as always. My suggestion: Start a parallel channel with the same content in Hindi as well. I want to share these videos to many people but many of them are not comfortable with English.
