As a Sporting CP fan I can say Bruno Fernandes is probably the most loved active player that hasnt been a league champion for Sporting. When he played for us he was by far the best player in the league, Sporting was already in a "football crisis" before the Alcochete attacks, when that happened ( ill remember you that it was his first season at the club) the real crisis happened with a lot of players leaving the club either for free or for a really low price. Bruno decided to stay and played for one more season and a half as a captain. In total he spent 2,5 years in Sporting, but still he visits the stadium almost every season break, he shows his love and gratefulness for Sporting, its players and the fans in a regular basis on social media and now he is playing again for an english club thats in "football crisis" aswell, he is by far the best player on the team, he certainly could leave MU for a team that would allow him to win more trophies but he hasnt. I personally dont like Manchester United, when it comes to English football im a Liverpool fan but I believe that even hardcore MU rivals should take notice that Bruno Fernandes being as he is, not only shines wherever he goes but also is consistant and all the managers he plays with trust him with the captain armband, Bruno cant have more big game moments because his team plays an awful football he plays the best any human can play under a disgrace like Ten Hag , right now MU needs Bruno more than Bruno needs MU. Bruno is a legend! Hope to see him soon back in Alvalade.

One thing that I have observed so far (could be wrong) is that the Portuguese people are very free-spirited and say whatever they think which could be seen as rude to some people. - Ronaldo openly chastised United, especially Ten Hag. - Joao Cancelo showed that he hates Pep Guardiola so much. - Joao Felix said that he wanted to join Barca, even though he’s at Barca’s rival Atletico at that time. - Bruno and all of his antics on the pitch. - Or back to the old days, Figo’s decision to go to Madrid which inflamed a lot of Barca fans. - And how could I forget Jose Mourinho, and everything about him?

At Manchester United, when things aren't going well, there tends to be that one player who is packed out and almost blamed for everything, you could say... "scapegoated" Very often it was Pogba, or Martial or De Gea and after the 7-0 loss to Liverpool where EVERYONE was terrible, all talk was about him, but what I appreciate about him is that whereas that may break other players, it won't break him, and that's why I love Bruno

@sssf55 Жыл бұрын
@@Ambientgram I don't think United "suck". They did well last season under Ten Hag and are finding it challenging to adapt to his new system with injuries this season. However, they will finish top 4 and likely reach the quarter finals of the CL and maybe win a cup if they're lucky. The problem is winning the CL or PL is too challenging at the moment. To gain that extra step, the club has to be managed better- e.g. better recruitment, better sales, better player contract management, better facilities, better fitness department and better academy development. All of these areas have been neglected heavily by the club's management. Until these things change, United will always be a contender and never a winner at this rate of competition. But they don't suck. Just a project in its developmental phase

That's just a part of his personality tbh, sometimes that whinning would sway the ref, sometimes he will start ignoring you or even overlook or miss something legitimate because he knows you will cry about something that isn't there either. He is an absolute top notch footballer, I think he finals performance are also a bit arfected by our schedule and his lack of rest, it's a double edged sword, the dude has absolutely insane workrate and is always fit, but near end when 55-60 games in he is usually burnt out, that's when these important finals are. We are too reliant on him, so much so that we end up burning him out completely. He is a menace, he will wind up the opposition, but even his own mind can be jumbled and played with like Emi Martinez did to him. And the thing is when he breaks there almost no one to cover for him, Casemiro has come in now, but he was suspended for like 10-11 matches last season, Varane and Lisandro are out injured every so often. And Rashford while much more polite and in general more likeable and less whiny has a similar mindset to Bruno. Onana seems to have some personality but as a player he too can be world class on his day but seems shaky when things aren't going his way.

Bruno has a win at all cost mentality, where the at all cost part is what people don't like. Back in the 80's,90's or early 2000's Bruno's on field personality would have been seen as a lot more of a major positive than a negative. However, like society, football has changed and people no longer value that kind of aggressive win at all cost mentality. It's a shame because people seem to think that his mentality is a weakness that takes away from his world class ability as a footballer. As I wrote on a UTD site; OK... devil's advocate here. Bruno's footballing skills are second to none - the stat's don't lie, he's the heart of the team. So what is the problem that the video never touched on? Bruno IS a crybaby. It's his attitude, throwing his arms up, unable to galvanise the poor team when down... and sure while he has scored important goals.. while crying like a baby for most of time, and walking around dejected is NOT very galvanising. You see us Utd fans were spoilt with the greatest ever captain of modern football with Roy Keane. He was the example of passionate hard graft that picked up players around them to make them play better, to make the team play better - Bruno just doesnt do that. He sulks and puts out moments of display while not galvanising the team.... so we compare Bruno to Keane as captain... and we don't see the comparison... we see a crybaby that is individually brilliant, but as a cohesive leader in the mould of Keane? Not even close.... is this fair? So what could be the answer? Bruno should NOT be captain, and allow him to play his game and shed the responsibility he doesn't do well with (just like with Portugal) and like he was in his first 18 months at Utd.... but the problem with that? There is no other player to successfully fill the Utd captaincy... so the focus is on Bruno's inability to grab the team by the scruff of the necck and pull them all together... which then leads to him being the crybaby and detracting from his excellent footballing skills and stats. Just my $0.02 from a 50 year+ die hard fan seeing it all through thick and thin...

Personally for me he is a fantastic player and a game changing player but the main problem i have with him is his antics on the field and how he reacts to it. - For example in World Cup after Portugal lose FAIR AND SQUARE to Morroco , Bruno was yelling "JUST GIVE THE WORLD CUP TO ARGENTINA ALREADY" lmao. - Another one is when United was losing to Liverpool 7-0 and he goes and straight up pushes the linemen. Had Bruno not play for "United" , he would not have got away with those things. - His constant complaints when REF MAKES THE RIGHT call and him "trying to fake a foul" to condition the game when he really does not need to - If Bruno stays quite , works more on his craft , and stays humbles and does not blames the refs , he would been much more respected - Also it does not help that on the CR7 situation Bruno "mentioned" things like "oh now we play better as a team" or him not wanting to shake CR7 hand - In addition to that , Bruno has a lot of unnecesary antics in the field. He is fucking world class and his football can do talking.

Incredible footballer, one of Sporting academy's greatest gems of the century. Always pull his weight and some in the national team. Heck, I'd argue he's the best player when playing in the Portuguese national squad at the moment, and it's not close. Naturally someone like Bernardo is a arguably a better player in club football, but damn... Bruno is consistent wherever he plays... be it Manchester, Portugal, doesn't matter. Bro is insane. I really dig him, and I'm a Porto fan so yeah, that's that.

@@Firescizor don't worry, it's a common misconception about him. He grew at Boavista, a club neighbour to FC Porto and one of the only 5 clubs to ever win the portuguese league (Benfica, Porto, Sporting, Belenenses and Boavista), but we went to Italy still at a very young age. He played at Novara still as a youngster, then Udinese and Sampdoria before Sporting Lisbon got to buy him. For some he should seem older as he was relatively well known in Portugal while still in Italy as he was consistently called to play for the portuguese national youth teams.

I think the "disappears in big games" trope is extremely harsh on Bruno. Big teams know he's by far United's best and only creative outlet so they single him out to crowd him out, and nobody else steps up. United don't have another world class creative player like Bernardo Silva, Gundogan, Foden, Mahrez, Grealish, etc. to take some of the heat off Bruno, and United don't have a world class number 9 like Haaland to finish off the chances Bruno creates. We had fkn Wout Weghorst up top last season.

Bruno is that player who makes the game progress in the opponents half. Check his stats, if there was no De Bruyne in the PL he would easily be the better CAM than any other guy in the PL. Right now for me KDB is the best and Bruno aint near him but nobody else is as well.
@TheBossMan2407 Жыл бұрын
He’s hated because he plays well, can split an opposition team open in one pass. But is clearly frustrated at the shocking team he has to play in. As shown with how well he performed with Portugal this week. It’s sad to see that people hate him because he’s frustrated with wasting his prime years at United, which as a United fan I fully understand. We turn great players into maguires. Is what it is. To call him a rat is just jealousy at that point. Maguire is much more hated than bruno. And if you say “ we love Maguire because he’s trash” then yeh, proves my point. You hate Bruno because he’s good. Same way everyone hated cristiano? Why ? Because at 37 he scored 24 goals in a premier league season in a team that was pretty much in relegation form for 1/3 of the season.

He is the best player of his team, as his teammates said in many times, he feels the shirt and the logo than anyone else. He gives everything he can on the pitch. The problem is that he doesn't often have self control, he gets annoyed easily and he is unable to control his anger. He is complaining all the time. He is the most important player in the team, he is a magician one of the greatest in Premier League, but his explosive personality can be troublesome in many ocasions making it more difficult for the entire team. I think he is not the right man to be the captain, captains must have self control on their feelings and lead their teams in the hardest moments.

Bruno is infuriatingly brilliant. I’m an Arsenal fan and if I put my bias aside, I’d absolutely take him at the Emirates. That being said, his attitude towards some situations would frustrate me, even if he played for my club. I think there’s a real maturity problem with him at times but he’s also incredibly committed and deserves to be amongst the best in conversations. You summed it up perfectly when you said ‘he can give it but he can’t take it’. The best shithouses give as good as they get and take it with grace. If he levelled his head out and focused purely on his ability I’ve not doubt he’d be one of the best players in the world for a long time to come.
