Amazing After watching the actual moving you would of sworn it was filmed in the south.

I love Old Hollywood films, but I’m a sucker for behind the scenes and location research. Absolutely superb!

Excellent video. I know the area pretty well and had no idea that huge set was once there.

This was great! I have a friend who lives near there and next time I visit we'll have to check it out! It seems to me there should be a marker in that park for the spot where the famous falling facade was shot. I'm sure so many people have seen it, or someone's homage.

A marker is a great idea. If you check my other video, Hollywood Heritage has now installed a plaque at the Chaplin-Keaton-Lloyd Alley in Hollywood

@@SilentLocationsbyJohnBengtson I'd heard that was going to happen--great! I was in LA for the installation of the correct and improved street corner marker for the studio. I went on your walking tour and got your book Silent Echoes, and started watching your videos. You got me hooked!

Surprisingly, so many of Keaton's classics were not filmed in Hollywood. Did the film company really need to travel so far away, so often?

Buster filmed on location in Kern County, San Francisco, Sacramento, Lake Tahoe, Arizona, Oregon, and New York, far more so than any other silent comedian. He'd travel anywhere to get just the right spot, but being practical, he also filmed dozens of mundane shots across the street from his studio. I think he loved the adventure of remote filming.
