I agree with him. The "easiest" way to learning something that is evolving is to have studied it have gradually studied it in the past. The last easiest day to learn AI was yesterday and starting to day will be easier than starting tomorrow so embrace the difficulty and accept the challenge.

A software dev is merely an AI user (unless they develops LLMs themselves). Why would a user need to know the nitpicks of what's under the hood of the AI? This misses the mark. Does a driver need to know what's the pressure in the engine pistons to drive a car well?

The quickest way, to be honest, is to jump to C# or Python ... the time spent jumping languages and frameworks will be made up easily with the move away from Spring and Java and its awful Azure SDK dependency conflicts and patching. The idea of having a security-patch monthly for Java or Spring when working on an AI project with confidential user data is a nightmare.
