I’m sure of my salvation because I was born again but memories of a very sinful life still haunt me. I pray I won’t remember some day. I don’t remember good things I’ve done if any. I don’t attend a church building but do meet once a week with mature Christians in a home of one of them. We don’t sing but do study the Bible and pray. I do struggle with food addiction. Gluttony is a sin. I want to please God so I Need to replace this with bible reading and prayer when I’m going to eat for comfort. Love that you don’t preach once saved always saved. I have really heard some bad things from preachers who believe this terrible doctrine. We always have free will. Either you will love or hate sin. Up to you. God knows your heart! There is no salvation without Lordship. Lord = Boss

I’m looking for an old school preacher I’m so hungry for the truth. We’re I live is not in the city and the last church I was the pastor did not like to preach so he would just put anyone to go and give a massage on Sunday he said it was our responsibility to make sure we would feed ourselves at home and that preaching was not for him , and of course i always every day ready my word but I would like to hear a massage at church.alot of false prophets would come to church with spirit of divination . The Lord aloud me to see all falsely in there and I got out of that church .

Tiff shuttlesworth preaches works for salvation. Repenting of sins is works for salvation. Sin is transgression of the law. (1 John 3:4 KJV) Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. So if you tell people to turn from sins to recieve salvation, then your telling them to keep the law to be saved. That's not the gospel. It's a free gift that you take by faith. (Romans 4:4 KJV) Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. (Romans 4:5 KJV) But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Luke 3:8 describes the relationship between repentance and new behavior. It says, “Bear fruits in keeping with repentance.” Then it gives examples of the fruits: “Whoever has two tunics is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise” (Luke 3:11). This means that repenting is what happens inside of us that leads to the fruits of new behavior. Repentance is not the new deeds, but the inward change that bears the fruit of new deeds. Jesus is demanding that we experience this inward change.

@@algernon_2023 it is not automatic . As a believer we are to yield to the Spirit . Salvation is a FREE gift you received by grace through faith alone. Repentance means change of mind. You change your mind from unbelief to belief.

@@robcrobert It also means that you turn away from sin. There are many verses about turning away from sin and Jesus himself said "Go and sin no more". Hebrews 10:26-27 For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.

Thank you for teaching us God's word, you make it easy for us to understand and I think we all appreciate that. If you have a moment, could you please help me with something... I have a Tyndale Life Application Study Bible NLT. Recently, my dad has become very upset with me for not using the King James Version. He said that other Bible's add to, remove or change words, thus creating a whole different meaning of some verses. So I need to know if I should change to a KJV, even if it's for the sake of not upsetting him. Thoughts on this? What brought it on was Genesis 3:21 - my Bible says "And the Lord God made clothing from animal skins for Adam and his wife." The KJV "Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them" He says that: "He clothed them" isn't simply giving them clothes. But rather a bigger meaning, maybe a blessing, but not just clothing a person. Is this true? Because my Bible sounds like clothing alone. He said later on when it says clothed, it has a different meaning, maybe like your covered by the blood of Christ, I don't know exactly because he doesn't know the verse to compare it to. So his point is, if it has a different meaning elsewhere, it doesn't make since to use it as clothing in Genesis 3:21. Hence the reason my Bible might be wrong. Please help! Thank you.

I use NLT. It’s easy to read. You still have only a translation with the King James Version. Don’t get hung up on which version you use. There is not much difference and honestly some people worship their KJV. It’s not right to do that. Anyway you can always compare the different bibles with a bible app. I recommend youversion. There are all the different versions there. King James Version is not written in the vernacular of today. Some words don’t even have the right meaning as we know them today such as prevent. Totally different meaning.
