My turban used to ride (slip) up my forehead, because of my rather expressive brow. A padka wouldn't hold it. It too rode up. I'm so glad I can now use a joora to hold it in place. It would be great to get some advice for those new to keeping their kes to help keep the dastaar in place.

thres like 5 panths in sikhism only khalsa panth is required to keep 5 k because its an army. not everyone was suppose to take amrit lol it was their way of initiation into the gurus organized army to fight invaders. its like if the navy seals had their own initiation and forced it on everyone else in the country. the british backed sgpc used the budha dals amrit ceremony to legitimize their taking over akal takhat and sikhism away from the original custodians the budha dal the original and only khalsa panth. like do your research its not that hard.

Interesting comment. Nihang says only their panth or path is correct .you say british tried to distort sikhi that's true but not the way you described. Read puratan rehatnamas it clearly states kesh is guru ki mohar.

@@Simransingh355-u1l nah sgpc established in 1925 on behalf of east india company, they could not convert the local population to christianity so they used sgpc and its parchariks to introduce christian concepts and used the ceremony and face of the Khalsa to do it. Like no Devi worship, for example, because imperial christanity doesnt believe God has a divine Feminine form, so SGPC parchariks preached against Devi worship when Guru Gobind Singh penned Chandi di Vaar and Chandi Charitr in honor of Devi lol. The very first Bani of Sarbloh Granth is Laxmi Upma. Sikhism had been christianized by forigen powers away from its native Indian roots.

​@simransingh214 yeah the 52 hukums were specific to volunteer soldiers of the Khalsa panther not everyone. That's why guru gobind Singh didn't include his writings in guru granth sahib because it was specific to his khalsa panth soldiers not the rest of Sikhs who could could follow the other 4 panths. Khalsa was Guru Gobind Singh's special forces, they did what special forced do today, send in limited fighters to infiltrate or take on larger forces with unconventional means. Khalsa panth's precursor was Akal Sena founded by the Guru jis grandpa 6th guru, guru hargobind. 6th guru sent bidhi Chand to steal 2 horses for him from underneath mughal noses from their own stables, it was more of a test though.

in pre colonial sikhi kesh was just the hair on the head and beard for men, for women just hair on head, Guru would be horrified with the bearded women we have today

What's so bad about women having kes as a beard? It's natural hair, why would sikh women cut it? If its to look beautiful or for cosmetic reasons, that is a (respectively) stupid excuse to cut hair and call yourself sikh. If waheguru is disappointed in women for keeping beards, then why would waheguru create hair on the chin and upper lip for women?
