Thanks for uploading your video--great information here. I have a house built in 1901; and I've gutted the upstairs bathroom, remodelled it and raised the ceiling one foot; same with front porch--both had a lean from one side to the other due to the slope in the floor which I straightened out, now I'm reframing ceiling of the master bedroom and raising it to 8 feet from its previous 7 feet; this after straightening out a roof beam bent in the middle due to a notch the size of a baseball; and I've had a steel roof put on; also dropped the stairs to the 2nd floor 3 inches and pushed them back 3 inches for more clearance--total cost, with my own labour, so far $25,000.00, with all the materials. The house was purchased four/five years ago, and it's now worth more than twice what I bought it for. The money has not been wasted. Renovation is a major labour cost, but you can do it yourself as long as your secure in your knowledge of weight ratios/major support beams/ etc.; helps to have a father who was a Finnish carpenter.

The third option is it the same process if connecting an addition on the house? If possible can you do another more detailed video on the second option please?

Love this video. Great info. I simply want to raise the roof in my two bathrooms. Which approach would work best? Do you come to Delray?

Hey there!! We haven’t opened a Boca office yet but at some point soon we will! If you’re just looking to do it in your bathrooms only a truss modification is your best bet. You will either be able to get them vaulted somewhat or even raise them and keep them flat (depending on how close they are to the exterior of the home)

Hm…. I don’t think so. That would usually just be removing a drop ceiling just like this wouldn’t it?

Is this for only single level home? What if I want to Gain 2 ft. In the basement, first level, and 2nd level?

That’s a pretty major project. The concept still applies and you could do it although the costs likely won’t be worth it

My house is 5 year old Perry Home 1 story. I want to raise ceiling in the living area from 10 ft to 12 ft. How much do I expect it to cost?

Usually roof lifts range between 40k for a very simple one with minimal HVAC and electrical work to upwards of 200k for larger homes and more complicated setups. It’s largely dependent on your exact aituation

@@HomeLoveConstruction Thank you for your reply. So my house say it’s 2950sf, sit on 7k sf lot. And if the house cost $400k, do you think the roof itself would cost up to 100k? I am trying to justify of spending money to raising ceiling va buy new construction home that come with higher ceiling at &550k? Hope to hear from you.
