I agree with SRK...and I think the example he gave was good, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and other Asian movies. They kept the essence of who they are and their culture but told the story in a format that other cultures can understand. I think it can be done with music and dance too it just depends on how it is done and which other culture you are marketing too. I think one thing that needs to be done is to find out why the other culture likes Indian film. Do an assessment first. I heard SRK or another say Germans like Indian films because there is so much emotion in it. THey usually do not express that. So to market to cultures like theirs you could not lose that part of Indian film. You do not have to lose yourself to go global. If someone does ask you to do that then do not go.

I have always loved Indian cinema, will always love Indian cinema.......have been seeing them from the 60's to now.......they are so entertaining ..........they have moved with the times but they have not changed their basic motto .." to entertain".....in a subtle, classy, cultured way.............hope they stay that way...........a contemporary cinema that I would love to see in 3 D is "Mohabattein"....... & 2 classic cinemas that would be wonderful to watch on 3D are " Jodha akbar".......& "Amar, Akbar, Anthony"!.........if people of all societies love watching our movies so be it......... important nit to push it down their throat.......if it is on their own accord & free will...great! they are sensible I think......

Kudos for SRK dragging India films into the 21 century . I watch and enjoy films from the world over. Hollywood movies have not kept the same format from decade to decade they have evolved with the times. Indian films tend to throw all the genres together into 1 film. Let a musical be a musical and an action movie be an action movie without having to make the macho hero break out into uncharacteristic song and dance. music is an important part in any film it carries you in and out of situations, but it shouldn't try and manipulate the viewers feelings. I personally love the big Bollywood scenes but I can't sit down with my adult children and watch with them because they think they are too corny. I think Hollywood films from the 60's are boring, but back then they were considered artsy. Change is necessary.
