Congratulations on eventually capturing the R.Bristlebird, and for Tom to find his special funghi 👍😊

@@jaynapodgorski8561 They are such quick little birds!! 😁 It’s ironic as they really are easy to see but photographing them is really difficult! Finding that tiny little fungi was quite a miracle! It was teeny tiny!!

Great to meet Tom May! He kindly identified a swag of fungi that I photographed at Mallacoota about ten years ago. It was a very wet Autumn and the place was alive with fruiting bodies of fungi. Even found some rare species and lots of large luminous fungi. Never heard of mycoornithology as an activity before!

Fungi & birding often go hand in hand on our trips 😆 Tom's a great guy & very knowledgeable. How cool that you've crossed paths ☺~ Karen

All the frustration paid off in the end with the gorgeous photographs of the bristlebirds and the discovery of the fungi. Beautiful vlog as usual. Thank you so much for your patience in capturing these great moments.

Thanks Fritz! We only had half a day with the Bristlebirds but patience did pay off. Nimal did way better than me! He seemed to always be in the right place at the right time... whereas I was just missing all the action until the end. 🙂 It was really fun & a lovely day out!

This is the most the most recent video that I have watched and thoughly enjoyed. It looks like spring is started to come into being there. Here in the states we're coming into fall, but you can't tell by the weather. I love the way you show your videos and photographs, basically breaking every rule about composer, background and clutter and your shots are BEAUTIFUL! Please keep up the great work. I love see the Australian scenery though your cameras lenses.

haha!! Thanks Guy 😀 Yes, there's not much we can do about background or what's in the photo when it comes to Bristlebirds (or many of our fast moving birds!) They go where they want so we're just lucky we can get anything most of the time 🤣 Spring is so exciting! It's just starting to warm up here and all the wildlife is becoming more active. It's going to be a fun few months! Thanks so much for watching!!

Wow so interesting!!! What an awesome find by whoever found it-so small and easy to miss! I’m an avid birder and fungi enthusiast too, studying biology and ecology 😄 you guys seem fun to hang out with haha

Thanks Lilith! 🙂 Yeah, the rare fungi was quite the find! Tom had all the coordinates but it was still pretty much looking for a needle in a haystack. I have to find out now what the fungi will be called!! I hope Tom gets to name it 🙂
