Before offering a way to avoid a hot war for the yanks, we should determine if the US genuinely wants peace. The answer is a very clear "NO"! So offering solutions to avoid a conflict to a recalcitrant aggressor, seems rather pointless. Through its increasingly hostile foreign policy actions over the last decade, the US very much wants a war with China but only through its sycophantic asian proxies, á la Ukraine. After the last debacle in Afghanistan, the US has adopted its weasel ex-president's policy of leading from behind. By so doing, the US thinks it can damage its enemy with impunity to its homeland. A time will come when those countries that are targetted will concentrate on the instigator rather than its minions. To understand the US, one only has to go back to the very days when a bunch of disgruntled pilgrims from Europe, mainly England who felt persecuted by the established churches.
