IFS has changed my life and brought me hope after a lifetime of trying to understand this inner war I couldn't calm down. This has been a beautiful gift to me.

Me too. I've only read some books and it's already had such a powerful effect

If you don’t mind, could you please share the therapist you work with? I’m trying to locate one and I have not had success so far. I am a mother of a small child and I could really use the help so as not to pass all this trauma on to the new life 🙏

This is really intriguing. As I work through my own traumas, whenever I end up moving towards and connecting/observing a feeling or thought I'm initially afraid of, I've lately been asking myself "what is this part like that's curious about this feeling?" Or "what's this part of me like that's trying to help me be okay?" Or "what's the pat of me like that's willing to get to know this emotion?" I had been so focused on accepting the difficult emotions that it never occured to me until recently to notice what was even allowing me to be able to do that in the first place. After hearing this, it seems like what I'm doing is stsrting to recognize my Self. Thank you for this convo. It was very helpful for me ❤

This was great. You two could do a regular podcast together where you discuss these topics and it wouldnt get old. I especially appreciate you two adding your understandings to the psychedelic therapy space because this is a crucial landscape for healing moving forward. Have you heard of Wavepaths? They are doing sound-based psychedelic therapy, and I cant help but think this is gonna be much more accessible to more people than things like mushrooms, and lend itself to being blended with IFS and open awareness practices with potentially great results. THANK YOU!

My best friend Ryan Burton who is an accomplished meditator and a spiritual teacher, pointed me out to awake awareness. I have been doing IFS training with Bonnie Weiss and the IFS self seems to be the same as the awake awareness. This same awakeness I also feel was activated from Bhante Vimalaramsi's TWIM loving kindness meditation. I mean of course it's the same. What else is there? But it's interesting how all those three practices brought it out.

They are similar but important to get the experiential differences. IFS makes clear definitions about parts as managers, firefighters, protectors and exiles and Insight meditation between lovingkindness, compassion, equanimity. . So Loch makes the clear distinctions of Self energy and Self essence as unconditional love which is not loving kindness and made an amazing difference in my waking up and growing up!

MDMA+Ketamine+IFS=magical cures !... the bit about dealing with backlash is super helpful as well !!... big Thanks !!!
@paris87116 ай бұрын
MDMA is ecstasy ( a drug) and ketamine is a sedative used for horses ( also used as a drug and as a strong painkiller). You are free to use these drugs if you want, but please don't mix them with serious psychological work like IFS. Other people might get confused. Thanks.

@@paris8711 Hi... Thx for the reply... you're right to point out that this is a nuanced subject and could be misleading from a simple statement in a post. But drugs=bad, no drugs=good and drug assisted therapy isn't serious work is also misleading. MDMA isn't ecstasy. Ecstasy is MDMA with whatever other crap a drug dealer wants to put in it. Pure MDMA is a class of drug called an empathegen and was used very successfully in couples therapy back in the early 70's but therapists were begrudgingly forced to stop using it because of the war on drugs movement. More recently it's been used with amazing results to treat veterans with PTSD. It's in the process of being regulated now and hopefully within a year or so it will legal again. Ketamine being called horse tranquilizer is an old war on drugs propaganda troupe. It's a class of drug called a dissociative and has been used in anesthesiology for decades and is so safe and effective the World Health Organization has classified it as an essential medicine ! There are Ketamine clinics all over the U.S. now providing safe effective therapeutic help to folks. You would definitely have to do your research and know what you are doing to combine these things effectively and safely and I don't want to give the idea that it's something to be taken lightly. I spent a lot of time looking into it before I starting working with this protocol and paid a practitioner to teach me how to do it properly before hand. The amounts of these drugs are very low compared to what a rave partyer (ecstacy) or surgery patient (Ketamine) would have administered and the timing of them is also important. Hopefully it won't be long until this protocol is regulated so people don't have to try to find underground practitioners to get help. I've tried a lot of different modalities over the years and nothing has even come close to the effectiveness of these these 3 elements used together... in a very precise and measured way ! Richard Schwartz himself mentions in a video about how psychedelics specifically can boost the IFS process but also they can be detrimental if not used in the right way. These are tools. They can be used properly or improperly. Hopefully safe protocols can be regulated and legalized so more people have access to their amazing healing properties.

I am finding infinite healing through the use of IFS combined with ketamine after 71 years of intense suffering and severe cptsd. I finally know what it feels like to feel light 🕯️ and forgiveness and lifting of shame and unworthiness

Ok, I understand what you said. I apologise, maybe I was too radical in my former comment. I believe these drugs, under medical control, might be effective in some cases. In my comment I was referring to people that use them in a recreational manner and tell themselves, as an excuse, that they are doing therapeutic or spiritual work.

I am curious if Richard ever takes emails. I'm sure he could get weighed down with all the messages. I feel like a bit of a difficult case and he began his venture into IFS because of issues I struggle with that Ive not been able to find freedom from. I felt led to this therapy after hearing his story of the girls he was treating that inspired his exploration into this field.
