A lot of the maternity issues this woman had was due to having kids out of wedlock. Because if she was married she could be supported by her husband during & after the pregnancy, particularly from a financial standpoint. I have a colleague who just had a child & is on maternity leave. She has 6 months of maternity leave & a portion of that is unpaid. However, because she is married & her husband still works, she is not rushing to get back to work nor is she concerned with not being paid. This is the underlining crux of the black community. The government & organizations cannot fix broken culture. What this organization is doing is admirable, but our culture needs to change to be more about intact families!

Thank you for watching. Despite the reason she had a child and didn't get married, I am still amazed by her strength and determination. She is now a homeowner! She didn't let anything stop her.

@ yeah but there ain’t enough programs & money to do this on a macro level. The ultimate resolution is what I suggest above.
