Hey Andy. I think it would be better to say that you 'saved' or 'reclaimed' £4,000 rather than 'made'. I feel it's deceptive to use that word: you have to spend more to reclaim a little back with cashback sites as opposed to with a business where one tries to spend little to get a bigger income. That is my personal opinion. I also mentioned this as I have saved or 'made' money by not being suckered into spending unnecessarily and somewhat abstaining from materialism and consumerism. (I also use my company's discount scheme. This further lowers my outgoings.) I have 2 personal financial mantras: 'Don't let your wallet bleed' & 'Need Little, Want Less'.

Also would you be prepared to go over the 'balance sheet' of what and how you saved over the 6 years?

Hey Bravo Alley. Interesting point. Personally I wouldn't save "saved" as you still pay full price, and I don't think you "reclaim" the money either - it's not yours unless you spend. You do earn it for shopping via those sites, so I think "made" is more accurate. Though "earn" could be an alternative.

@@bravoalley228 Ha, it would take forever! But like I said it's using the sites as much as I possibly could for the things I'd need. How much anyone makes is of course down to how much they spend, and my annual earnings are far less now that I don't take out mobile phone contracts etc.

Good info here. Especially for ppl with subscriptions every month or that spend alot on consuming stuff. What is the approx. percentage that you have made based on your spent investment? It seems to be very low percentage people are making on cashback. Isnt it better to spend less and just optimise your monthly stuff though? Like go without these subscription programmes and go on less expensive holidays. The expereince is not much different once used to it. But getting off this train is quite hard (dopamine reward prediction error kicks in). Then invest these savings in a 15% return stock plan instead. Potentially making 30% return low risk every year. You can have a good time looking at what to change and why (similar to checking cashbacks) with stocks and shares and make more in return.
