Cavalry saved my butt on a recent rush project. I was able to pump out several background animations that would’ve taken forever in AE. Didn’t have to compromise my vision. Thank you cavalry team!!

Where do you find tutorials? There's barely video walkthroughs for this app.

@@eladbari yeah the community is still super small, especially in regard to tuts. Other than Cavalry’s own channel (which is great), I really enjoyed tuts from Heyalisa Motion, Pepko Motion, and Alex Amor

@@coopidydoopidythanks for sharing that. In this new age of "Gen-Z softwares", it's best to first understand what will serve you best. Rive seems to be t-he app for animative interactions (so probably all web related clients). So, whaddya think Cavalry offers here? Lightning fast workflow as an AE alternative? Can it overcome the lack of plugins AE has?
@coopidydoopidy11 күн бұрын
@@eladbari I found it most helpful for procedural abstract elements. So in my recent case, I needed a ton of different wavy stripe animations, and they were taking me forever to make one by one in AE. Cavalry’s tools are just better suited to quickly making pattern-type things quickly

Hey guys! Cavalry is amazing! I mainly use Houdini for 3D and was looking for something similar for 2D, and I think I've finally found it. I'm considering switching from After Effects. I have two requests: First, it would be great if we could directly import Illustrator files into Cavalry. Second, could you add support for MS Word equations? Animating equations is such a hassle right now-we have to convert them to shapes first and go through a whole process. It'd be awesome if you could create a dedicated tool for animating equations with some handy presets. Thanks!

You’ve made me so curious! I've just downloaded it. I think it was a great strategy from the Cavalry team to create this video. I had already heard about Cavalry, but I didn’t realize all the value behind it. This might be a problem with your communication (spontaneous feedback, ignore if not appreciated). You absolutely need to make sure this information is reflected in your online communication!

You sold me with thinking I'm clever with generative art like the ones I see in Processing. Yep as a non-developer this is right up my street.. I'm gonna download Cavalry now.

Thinking of it as a _very_ slick and high level GUI front end for Processing would not be a mistaken assumption.

I've just started learning cavalry and I'm very excited about using it in digital signage. They should go to all the signage SMS products out there and build Lottie widget extensions which somehow hook into cavalry. Maybe one button export to your signage CMS via a Lottie file.

I have a somewhat niche style in after effects because I love procedurally generated audio reactive visualizers, but I also like having the audio reactive features on text, and fx layers, and video... and playing back video in AE is like watching paint dry. I asked in an adobe forum once and they basically made fun of me for editing video in after effects. Sorry I dont want to switch back and fourth to premiere when all my favorite features are 3rd party AE tools smh...
@TerenceKearns10 күн бұрын
Would be good if they could have a LIVE output engine in the same way that resolume does but resolume is a live compositor. Cavalry with a control center interface could generate live graphics for broadcast/podcast situations with live input or just in time edited input. There are already tools which do this but it wouldn't be much more development effort for cavalry to compete hugely. These other tools from companies live vizrt are orders of magnitude more expensive.
